**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning friends and thanks for cruising by for the last surf and weather report outta Bali for 2007. Man that 2 weeks went quick while over in Oz, as holidays tend too… But it’s good to be back on the happy little island of Bali . I suppose I better say a quick thank you to Scott for keeping ya’s posted. Scott reckoned it virtually rained and the wind howling outta the SSW the whole time I was off-island.
I was straight back into the routine this morning and down at the beach doing the surf and weather recon by 6.15am . Wave height was looking weak and small, down in the 1-2ft range in between Kuta Reef and Airport left . The wind was coming outta the West @ 3-6knot and straight on-shore. The tide was still running out for a 0.4mtr Low set for around 9.00am and is then gunna be filling back in with a 2.0mtr High .
I don’t think there’s gunna be to much surfing down along the West Coast of Bali but I’m pretty sure you’d be able to find plenty of waves over on the east Coast this morning. Scott took these current photos over at Serangan yesterday and reckoned it’s the best it’s been for a couple of week. If the weather stays dry today he said he’ll probably go and check out Keramas for us around lunch time. So fingers crossed he’ll get us some fresh ones to check out later on.
Weather wise the rain kept falling through the night but this morning the sky isn’t looking to bad with plenty of blue patches through it.
Ok crew I’ve got lots of catch up stuff to do and plenty of emails to answer, so I’m gunna check out and hook in to it. Thanks big time to everyone that has been tuning into the baliwaves.com through 2007. 2008 is gunna be huge here on the Original Bali Surf and Weather website so make sure ya stick it out. Have a great New Years Eve and see’s all here in Bali next year.
I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc.
Well Thanks to all the kind hearted folks that have helped us improve the conditions up at the Datah Primary School ! We are making some real progress with the objectives we made so make sure you check out our progress at the school via the “SCHOOL PROJECT” page over on the menue bar .
Have a good one what ever you’ve got happening out there and stay tuned to the one and only Original Bali Surf and Weather website .
