**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello out there, thanks for tuning into the baliwaves.com and I suppose it’s time to give ya’s the run down on todays surfing and weather conditions here in Bali . Well I had to wait tfor the rain to stop around 7.45am before I could get down the beach this morning. And after one look I shoulda stayed at home. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was ranging between 6 inches to 1 foot . The first of today’s tides was a 1.6mtr High that passed at 6.00am. The next Low will be 0.7mtr’s around midday and that’s not gunna be improving the chances of getting in a wave today. The wind was pretty well non existent, if anything coming lightly outta the WNW . For those that really need to get in the water the only hope of finding a wave would be down at Uluwatu on the West Coast or around at Nusa Dua on the East Coast. Or for an easier option take a look down along the beach breaks of Kuta and Legian for some waist high waves. I had a browse through a few swell prediction websites last night and it does look like relief is on the way. We should be in for a slight boost in wave height sometime in the next 48hrs give or take, and then a more solid swell should be hitting the reefs just after the next New Moon on the 9th.
Weather wise , well like I said the rain started late last night and didn’t let up till just after 7.45am this morning so it’s a bit damp out there this morning. The sky is still clouded over and we still might be in for another shower or two before the days done. Right now at 10.00am the temperature would be sitting around 26 degree’s Celsius.
I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc.
Ok our first objective of aquiring the funds to hook up electricity to the school is done . So a huge pat on the back to all of you that have already contributed or in the process of !!! But there’s still a bit more we can do for the school so if you are interested take a look at the Info page on the school project over on the menue bar.
We have also secured our goal of providing 100 English / Indonesian dictionaries . So I’ll be heading back up to the school to hand them over and to get ya’s another progress report on how we are doing. So keep an eye on the School Project page .
Have a good one what ever you’ve got happening out there and stay tuned to the one and only Original Bali Surf and Weather website .
