**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report machine . Well the boys here at Home Base were up rather early this morning as we had decided the night before to make the run up to Keramas pre-dawn. So with the boards loaded into the rental by 5.00am we were on our way.
We made the 29.7km (from Home base) trip to Keramas in 45mins and arrived to find clean and glassy waves with just a tinge of off-shore wind. The tide had just passed the mid range and was on the way up for a 1.6mtr High set for around 9.00am. Keramas was cranking through some nice sized head to head high plus 2-4 footers , probably the most swell on the whole island. The boys put in a 3 hour session and the crowd never went over 12 surfers in total . You’ll have to excuse the quality of some of these photos I took as the sun was just starting to rise at the time and I was pretty well shooting straight into it. By the time we packed up and made the walk back down the beach to the car park at 10.00am the wind was just starting to swing a touch on-shore outta the SE-SSE . Ok that’s about me done for the day but if ya want to drop by and say G’day to Slim then call by the DEWI SRI Live Seafood Restaurant on Jalan Kartika Plaza here in Tuban tonight between 7.00 – 9.00pm.
Weather wise today there were flashes of lightning on the horizon when we were in transit. But the day dawned pretty well clear and sunny. Right now at 12.00 noon there’s still a fair bit of blue up there but there is some thick cloud down to the South and heading this way.
I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc.
Well Thanks to all the kind hearted folks that have helped us improve the conditions up at the Datah Primary School ! We are making some real progress with the objectives we made so make sure you check out our progress at the school via the “SCHOOL PROJECT” page over on the menue bar .
Have a good one what ever you’ve got happening out there and stay tuned to the one and only Original Bali Surf and Weather website .
