**** MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE **** Hello and thanks for staying tuned into the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report website . And just to let ya’s know how we are doing out there baliwaves.com is currently drawing upto 500,000 unique visitors per month . I don’t know how many million page views of hand, but anyway, lots. Not a bad effort from an aging surf bum who runs the whole kit and caboodle off a telephone dial up connection .
Ok ok, well we made the run back over to Secrets on Bali’s East Coast again this morning but we got skunked . First of all wave height had dropped right off (more than I had expected re-yesterdays report) down into the half to one and half foot range. There were still perfectly shaped little lefts and rights peeling off for the dozen or so Japanese surfers in the water, but we our crew wasn’t up to it. Wind direction was straight off-shore coming outta the West North West at 8-10knot . Another factor that turned us off was that last night we had some torrential rain that lasted through most of the night. This rain apparently had flushed out the local river of every bit of flotsam and jetsam into the ocean all around the surfing area. Not too mention that the early AM High tide had turned a sparkly black sand beach into a rubbish dump. So we all decided there was plenty of other stuff to get up to today and headed back to Home Base .
Local ripster Devis ratif later called me to let me know that there were still plenty of head high waves breaking at Nusa Dua Reef . He had also checked out surfing conditions at Serangan where wave height was slightly smaller in the 2ft range but loaded with crew. So all we can do is wait and see what happens tomorrow ok. I also managed to load ya’s a few photos into the NIGHT CLUB gallery curtesy from one of the lads staying with us at Home base.
Weather wise out there today the sky still hasn’t made up it’s mind and there is every chance that we’ll be seeing more rain before the end of the day. Right now at 12.30PM the temperature would be sitting around 26-27 degree’s Celsius and the Humidity right up there in the high 90% range.
