****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Thanks for tuning into the baliwaves again today for your daily (7/7) dose of surfing and weather conditions here in Bali . Ok when I was down taking a look at the Outer Reefs this morning (6.15am) wave height had appeared to have dropped off a touch in size and only showing in the 1-2ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The tide was still running out so the only viable surfing option outta the big 3 was on Middle Reef . Wind direction was coming lightly on-shore outta the West @ 1-2knot . So surfing conditions were still clean and tidy.
Due to yesterdays strong on-shore wind outta the WSW (10.00am) I didn’t get to deliver any new photos, so today I loaded up the camera equipment and headed South for Uluwatu . I was in position and set up on location by 7.45am . The tide was dead smack on the bottom of a very shallow and reef exposing Low so the Racetrack section was where the action was. Wave height was hitting the Racetrack in the 2-3ft+ range but there were bigger set waves on the Main Peak @ 2-4ft. There was also a few 2-3 footers peeling off down at Temple’s for the solo surfers who made the paddle down there. By the time I packed it in and headed for Home Base at 11.30am the wind had become stronger on-shore and more WSW @ 5-8knot .
Weather wise : blue sky and warm to hot temperature with a midday maximum of around 32 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Prediction : Well unfortunately there’s still nothing but big High Pressure Cells dominating the Indian Ocean so we are going to be in for another week of small but fun sized waves from waist to head high plus at best.
Well Thanks to all the kind hearted folks that have helped us improve the conditions up at the Datah Primary School ! We are making some real progress with the objectives we made, so make sure you check out our progress at the school via the “SCHOOL PROJECT” page over on the menue bar .
