MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning surfers, and thanks for dropping in for a look at todays surfing and weather conditions here in Bali . I was down on the beach with my fishermen friends at 6.45am and wave height between Kuta Reef and Airports is definitely starting to build. The wind was blowing hard on-shore outta the WNW @ 8-12knot and the tide was heading for the bottom of a 01mtr Low set for between 7.00-7.30am .
Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left has increased up into the 2-4ft+ range and will more than likely continue to add a bit more size as the tide runs back in for the expected 2.4mtr High at 1.00pm . We are also gunna be expecting the wind strength to increase and possibly reach upto 20-26knots by early afternoon. We couldn’t get out to shoot ya’s some new photos yesterday as the rain / drizzle never let up until around 4.00pm so we just settled on shooting some pool and drinking a few Bintangs … terrible hey ! But the boys here at Home Base are chomping at the bit to get over to the East Coast for a surf recon a bit later this morning so hopefully I’ll get something for ya’s then. Weather wise today I’d give it 4 outta 10 , it is cloudy and grey out there but at least it’s not raining yet. Looking at the synoptic charts for the Indian Ocean and I sure as hell wouldn’t wanna be down there in a small boat that’s for sure. We have yet another T.C. down under Indonesia and I’m sure it’s gunna be spinning some foul winds our way. The surfer come fishermen , and what else do aging surfers do, can find some new photos on the Fishing Report page . Scott has been loading up Readers Reports from the Super Bank on the Aussie Gold Coast and other locations so make sure ya have a geek at that stuff before ya check out Swell Prediction (5th – 11th) , and things are looking much more positive over the next 7 day period indeed. At the moment we have a tight Low Pressure Cell down in the Indian Ocean and it’s being funelled up to us from the aid of a High Pressure Cell on each side of it. Wave height should continue to hold in over the next day or so before dropping off slowly. But by next Friday we should see some solid swell belting the reefs and beachs around Bali that should go right through the weekend. Datah Primary School Project , I know it’s been over a month since my last visit to the school but come the 13th of this month and I will be making a special visit to the school to hand over some more of your extremely valuable contributions and to make another summary / report on the current situation at the school. So stay tuned for more info on what we have accomplished. Well Thanks to all the kind hearted folks that have helped us improve the conditions up at the Datah Primary School ! We are making some real progress with the objectives we made, so make sure you check out our progress at the school via the “SCHOOL PROJECT” page over on the menue bar .
