Bali Surf Report – February 11 2008

MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy crew and thanks for dropping by for news on todays surfing and weather conditions in Bali . Well the best thing about today is that at least the sun is shining . Virtually from dawn the wind has been howling outta the WSW-SW gusting between 15-20knot+ . So here along Bali’s West Coast the ocean is looking like a giant washing machine on turbo drive . A couple of the surfers staying here with us at Home Base couldn’t help em selves and had to go for a surf over at “Secrets” earlier.

Surfing conditions over there were not a whole lot better with wave height pushing head high on the set waves but also heavily wind affected by the cross/on-shore . “Secrets as it used to be around 15-20yrs ago had around 50 Japanese surfers in the water (don’t blame me for that….lol, those boys and girls don’t read baliwaves.com). Anyway the boys still braved the conditions but later regretted it.

Oh yeah and by the way these photos I loaded up I shot over at Serangan yesterday around lunch time. When we arrived wave height was pretty average at chest to head high but by the time we finished surfing wave height had jumped to 3-5ft and almost double head high. Alas it is the season for traveling Japanese surfers to swarm to Bali and there was no less than 120 surfers in the water at Serangan .

Weather wise , like I said, at least the sun is shining today and we have a midday temperature of around 30 degree’s Celsius. But the 3 day outlook is still showing non stop strong wind outta the West at upta 30knots with only short period wind waves being generated.

Datah Primary School Project , I know it’s been over a month since my last visit to the school but come the 13^th of this month and I will be making a special visit to the school to hand over some more of your extremely valuable contributions and to make another summary / report on the current situation at the school. So stay tuned for more info on what we have accomplished.
