MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy folks and thanks for cruising by for the run down on whats happening surf and weather wise around Bali today . Well first of of let me reassure ya’s that ya didn’t really miss out on anything special yesterday. For starters the wind, it was absobloodylutely howling outta the SSW all day with gusts upta 30knots. Then there was the rain and virtually never let up all day either. But I did get one sms report from Jay who made the ru over to Serangan . Jay reckoned wave height was a solid 2ft+ and that the key word for Serangan was “konnichiwa” derived from large quantity of Japanese surfers in attendance.
This morning and I’ve just returned from doing a surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban (7.30am). And today is looking no different from yesterday except that we don’t have any rain falling just yet. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Lefts was a wind driven 2-4ft on a 5-6 second period . The wind was coming gently outta the SSW @ 20-25knot and totally trashing the West Coast. While the tide was on the way down for a 0.9mtr Low set to bottom out around 9.00am. I’m not certain, but the boys staying here at Home Base were messing around with the idea of checking out Secrets a bit later this morning. So if that happens I’ll try and snap a few new photos for ya’s. What I have done is typed up another Progress report from Datah Primary School Project to keep all the kind hearted / considerate folk in the know with what has / hasn’t been done at the school. Weather wise today I’d have to give it 2 from 10. Just because it’s not raining while I’m typing this up. Like I mentioned a few days back we did have a couple of Tropical Cyclones that spun our way coming off the coast of Africa. Well the eventually spun themselves out and we had a short lived return to calm conditions. Now we are under the influence from yet another T.C, namely Nicholas. This time coming off the North Western tip of Australia. Swell prediction , well as long as these bloody T.C’s are spinning down below Indonesia all we can really count on is very short period wind generated swell. But in around another 4 days or so we should see a solid swell hitting our reafs and beachs. The surfer come fishermen , and what else do aging surfers do, can find some new photos on the Fishing Report page . Scott has been loading up Readers Reports from the Super Bank on the Aussie Gold Coast and other locations so make sure ya have a geek at that stuff before ya check out Well Thanks to all the kind hearted folks that have helped us improve the conditions up at the Datah Primary School ! We are making some real progress with the objectives we made, so make sure you check out our progress at the school via the “SCHOOL PROJECT” page over on the menue bar . Don’t forget if any of you lot want to grab some photos or video footage surfing here in Bali and we can easily arrange it for ya. Hey and do us a favor and buy a baliwaves.com T-SHIRT and help us to keep running this stuff, I don’t think many of you don’t really know how much time, effort and money we put into the running of baliwaves.com . You can find the link over on the right hand side of this page in the MENUE . I tell ya’s what I’ll give the first 50 surfers AU$10.00 off the price but you’ll have to email us first ok !
