**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello crew and thanks for waiting around for todays surf and weather report coming live to ya’s outta Bali . Well I didn’t even get a chance to investigate surfing conditions here on Tuban’s Outer Reefs this morning as the team from Home Base and I were on the road heading for Medewi by 4.45am . At first I was a bit concerned wether or not we’d be scoring waves or not, because just as we pulled outta HB we were hit by a solid thunder and lightning storm along with torrential rain. But we kept a going.
We pulled up right infront of Medewi Beach to find clean and glassy waves peeling off at 2-4ft , with just the slightest touch of off-shore wind on it. No surfers in sight so the lads and I got into the water as quick as we could. But it turned out there was need for speed cause we ended up surfing it all by our lonesomes for the next 3 hours straight. Tide wise it was a touch low at first but as the tide started to roll back in the waves were lining up much better and peeling off for up to 100yrds. By the time the last of our crew hit the shore line at 10.30am there was a total of 6 other surfers in the water . By the time we finished gorging our hungers at the little cafe right infront of the action we were contemplating going out for another session, but we were all suffering from rubber arm itiss. Summery, all the crew including myself were pretty happy with our mission. And to top it all off we get to show ya’s yet another one of Bali’s too many to name em all surfing locations.
Swell Prediction; There’s still not much happening swell wise down in the Indian Ocean. Well not for this part of the Indian anyway. We are still under the influence of High Pressure Cells, causing the dreaded “yo-yo effect” on our wave height. But over on the south western part of the Indian there’s plenty o action from two Tropical Cyclone’s spinning over the last week. What we can expect over the next 7 day period is… more small but possibly fun sized waves ranging from 1-4ft+ depending on location. Head South for the best waves !
Well Thanks to all the kind hearted folks that have helped us improve the conditions up at the Datah Primary School ! We are making some real progress with the objectives we made, so make sure you check out our progress at the school via the “SCHOOL PROJECT” page over on the menue bar .
