**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hey crew and yep yet another afternoon up-date, well it’s hard to file em early when first ya have to go out and find the best waves. Then surf em, and then get em up here for you lot to check out. But anyway I think you all know that baliwaves.com is an active surfer website . Ok as ya’s can see we had to change our travel plans this morning due to another solid rain storm and a howling W-WSW on-shore wind belting us in the 10-14knot class. So the boys from here at Home base Bali decided our first session would be at “Secrets” over on the East Coast .
Wave height was coming through nicely in the 2-4ft range with the wind clean and off-shore. No other surfers in sight, so I don’t know where the dicks that hassled baliwaves for “exposing” this location were, and who gives a f*%# anyway. Our crew surfed for a couple of hours and then the local surf guides started arriving with car loads of Japanese surfers. No sweat we had had our fill and it was time for a 40 minute drive down to Nusa Dua for another sess.
Nusa Dua was breaking solidly in the 4-5ft+ range but by this time 11.00am the wind was starting to shift to the SW and cross/off-shore . But surfing conditions were still clean and tidy and the boys wanted a piece of it. There was probably a total of something like 50 surfers in the water but Nusa Dua really tends to spread em out.
Weather wise after the morning rain storm it turned out to be just another hot and sunny day around Bali for the holiday crew to make the most of.
Swell Prediction , and things are looking much more positive over the next 7 day period indeed. At the moment we have a tight Low Pressure Cell down in the Indian Ocean and it’s being funelled up to us from the aid of a High Pressure Cell on each side of it. Wave height should continue to hold in over the next day or so before dropping off slowly. But by next Friday we should see some solid swell belting the reefs and beachs around Bali that should go right through the weekend.
