Today I was down at Snapper for a surf at 5am and already there was a large crew in the water. You got to be up early on the weekend these days if you wont to get a wave to yourself. Either that or take up night surfing. Anyway paddled out and into the first wave that came my way, it was only small but ran off a good 60 meters. I surfed my way to Greenmount then made the walk back to Snapper Rocks. I paddled out again for round two and enjoyed some more waves, all the way back to the northern end of Greenmount this time. OK so after that bit of fun I was pretty stuffed. Later in the afternoon around 4pm I headed over to Duranbah beach and took these latest shots. The wind was strong out of the north and conditions were not clean but there was some nice 2-4ft wedges coming through and the boys were getting some nice barrels. On another note if you surf at a new spot have atleast an idea of what your getting your self into and the conditions on the day. Take the time to watch some locals, where they paddle out, where they come in, its not that hard. I witnessed one guy trying to get back to the beach three times before I had had enough and yelled out to him where he could get in. I mean after three attempts with none of them working you think you’d learn. Taking my advise he was on the beach within a minute. Ok thats my beef. Till next time!
