**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy surfers and thanks for tuning into the baliwaves.com surf and weather report . Ok I didn’t get a chance to do my usual surf recon of the Outer Reefs as we had the rental loaded up with our boards by 5.15am . So the crew and myself from Home Bali hit the road for the 2 hr drive to our destination.
We arrived around 7.15am to find clean waves in the 2-4ft range being fanned by a light Northerly off-shore breeze . There was only around 15 surfers in the water with a very consistent left and right handers pouring through . We surfed for nearly 4 hours, up until the wind had shifted around to the West and on-shore. By that time the crowd woulda increased to close to 40 surfers but spread over 3 different breaks.
Before heading back to HB in Tuban we decided on lunch at Medewi , wave height at Medewi was a bit smaller at 1-3ft . The wind was also on-shore at Medewi by this time but there were still a few playful rides being had by the half a dozen surfers in the water. Tomorrow is looking good for more surf for the lucky folks here on the happy little holiday island of Bali .
Weather wise this morning was perfect with blue sky and light wind. But around the half way mark on the drive back home the torrential rain started and is still raining now at 6.00pm.
Swell Forecast (27thFeb – 4th Mar) The next few days and we are gunna have to grit out teeth and bare out small waves in the 1-3ft range depending on location. Then around Saturday or Sunday things are starting to look better with a shift in wind direction and tending to the NNE-E providing semi off-shore to off-shore wind here along the West Coast. Then (fingers crossed) a new swell system should also start to show around Sunday building over the next few days and provide plenty of swell through till mid week.
