**** MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE **** Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report . Ok and getting right into it, my first surf recon was of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban at 6.30am . Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left had jacked over night and there were some nice waves peeling through Middle Reef in the 2-4ft range . The tide was still dropping down for a 0.6mtr Low so it was still too shallow for Kuta Reef and Airports. The wind was light off-shore outta the ENE @ 1knot making for some clean and tidy waves.
But seeing as though I was pretty keen to get you guys and girls some new photos to stare at I jumped on my old motor bike with the camera gear and bee-lined for Uluwatu . Arriving just on 9.00am to find 2-4ft of bumpy swell hitting the Main Peak and Racetrack with only 4 surfers in the water. But as ya’s can see in these latest photos to come outta Indo that as the tide started to run back in surfing conditions soon got much better. The wind was kinda light and variable for the first hour or two but then switched back off-shore and helped to straighten out the now 4-5 footers hitting the Main Peak
By the time I packed up at 12.15 there were still only 21 surfers riding the Main Peak and another 4 surfers sitting further up the reef on Temple’s . Riding home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s I stopped the engine long enough to watch a few 2-3 footers peeling down the long reef of Impossible’s , but hardly anything breaking at Padang Padang with the tide only 2 hours off the top of a 2.3mtr High . For the first time in ages there were also a few bodyboarders surfing at Uluwatu and I managed to get a few photos of them for the bodyboarding page for those that care. But you’ll have to wait till later this evening for those ok.
Weather wise today on the baliwaves weather scale I’d give her a 7-10. Mainly sunny but with scattered clouds drifting over from time to time.
Another thing I couldn’t help but notice while I was on the beach, was the increased amount of beach front damage that’s happened at the Pantai Restaurant / Ma Jolley and Bali Bintang Ramada Hotels . You can see the photos I took of the destruction in the KUTA CAM GALLERY.
