**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning to the baliwaves surfers tuning into the Sunday Session for the latest news on Bali’s surf and weather conditions . Ok well it’s just gone 7.15am over here and I’ve just got back to Home Base after taking my surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban .
Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left is still only showing in the knee high range with the occasional waist high set wave . The tide is heading for 1.1mtr Low set for around 11.00am and then will be running back up for 1.9mtr High around 5.00pm . Wind direction was coming outta the NE @ 2-5knot and pretty much off-shore here along bali’s West Coast.
Kuta Reef wasn’t really looking viable for a surf but if you were keen ya could find something to paddle onto at Middle Reef and down on Airport Left . We were going to head down to Uluwatu this morning but so far this morning the boys and girls staying with us at Home Base are all still sleeping like babes. So we’ll have to wait and see what happens when they surface. Me I’d liked to have been back up the coast at Balian for the dawny ….
Weather wise out there today the rain has cleared away but we are still left with thin cloud cover and my guess is that will burn off by late morning. Temperature wise we should see the mercury reach into the 29-31 degree Celsius category. While the water temp was perfect yesterday at 23 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Forecast (27thFeb – 4th Mar) The next few days and we are gunna have to grit out teeth and bare out small waves in the 1-3ft range depending on location. Then around Saturday or Sunday things are starting to look better with a shift in wind direction and tending to the NNE-E providing semi off-shore to off-shore wind here along the West Coast. Then (fingers crossed) a new swell system should also start to show around Sunday building over the next few days and provide plenty of swell through till mid week.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta and you’ll find that; –1US$=Rp9,000 – 1AU$=Rp8,400 – 1EU$=Rp13,675.
