**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy friends of Bali and thanks for stopping by for nthe run down on todays surf and weather conditions around Bali . Well as ya’s can see in these latest photos to come outta Bali the boys and I from Home Base scored some pretty darn nice waves toda y.
I didn’t get to check conditions here on the Outer Reefs of Tuban until after we got back from our little road trip. But when I did get a look wave height was only just showing in the 0.5 – 1ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The wind was good coming outta the ESE-SE @ 2-5knot and off-shore , but too small for surfing. I also had a couple of phone calls from one of my local friends down at Uluwatu and he was calling Uluwatu breaking at 2-3ft on the Main Peak, with upto 30 surfers in the line-up.
Where we were today wave height at times was pushing a solid 4ft and when we arrived at 6.45am the wind was also clean off-shore but there weren’t no other surfers in sight until at least 8.30am. And then it was just 3 other very friendly Japanese who didn’t mind sharing some waves. Sometime around 11.00am the wind shifted to the ESE-SE but only very light so surfing conditions were still clean and glassy .
We surfed until 1.00pm before pulling the plug and making the drive back to Tuban. The overall crowd woulda peaked at 10 surfers , and for our last session there was just the four of us out there taking turns on the set waves . Not a bad day and right now my arms and legs are feeling like jelly. But I think we’ll be heading back up there for another dawn patrol session again tomorrow. The boys from Kandui Surf Resort up in the Mentawai’s have also sent through some more photos of there current waves so make sure ya take a peak at what’s been happening up in the Ments before ya shut down.
Weather wise today on the baliwaves.com 0-10 scale I’ve gotta give her a 10 outta 10. Just blue sky, sunshine and sunburn was the call.
I’ll also try and get everyone that’s been involved with our “SCHOOL PROJECT†brought up to date with the progress up at Datah Primary School as soon as I can get the time to type up a report and edit the latest photos from today’s trip.
