**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello friends, adventurer’s, Bali veterans and all you other surfers that are getting ready for a Bali surfing experience this year . Well after taking a look at the ocean this morning it looks like we have another day off from surfing.
I did the surf recon on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban at 6.45am and there wasn’t much at all breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . Wave height was still only showing in the 0-1ft range on the bigger set waves. The wind was coming outta the West @ 2-4knot+ and light on-shore right along Bali’s West side. Tide wise we are heading for a 1.2mtr Low @ 9.00am , then she’ll be running back in for a 1.8mtr High around the 3.30pm mark.
Looking for a wave today your gunna be hard pressed to find anything bigger than 2ft from Medewi down to Uluwatu on the West Coast. And over on the East Coast it’ll be similar in relation to size but at least you should be able to find cleaner surfing conditions at Nusa Dua, Nyang Nyang’s and maybe Green Bowls this morning.
Weather wise around these parts at least it hasn’t been raining but we do have some light cloud cover at the moment. Hopefully that’ll burn off by midday for a warm to hot day, then maybe more cloud and the chance of an afternoon shower. Expected top temperature for today would still be around the 28-30 degree mark.
Ok the boys from up at the KANDUI SURF RESORT in the MENTAWAI ISLANDS have sent us through some more photos and surf up-dates and you can find them in the Surf Report menue on the right hand side of this page. Scotto has also been out shooting some photos along Australia’s Northern coastal region and you’ll find his material in the same section under READERS REPORTS . Actually I’ll be looking forward to Scott getting back to Bali and helping us out on the photo department. Especially now he’s shooting from behind a brand new Cannon f2.8, 300mm with 2 x convertor connected.
Changing dollars to Rupiah out on the streets of Kuta you can still expect to find that 1AU$=Rp8,375 – 1US$=Rp9,100. And just beware while you’re here in Bali and you see money changers advertising higher than normal rates. This usually indicates a scam of some degree.
Don’t forget if any of you lot want to grab some photos or video footage surfing here in Bali and we can easily arrange it for ya. Hey and do us a favor and buy a baliwaves.com T-SHIRT and help us to keep running this stuff, I don’t think many of you don’t really know how much time, effort and money we put into the running of baliwaves.com . You can find the link over on the right hand side of this page in the MENUE . I tell ya’s what I’ll give the first 50 surfers AU$10.00 off the price but you’ll have to email us first ok ! Airconditioned rooms starting from AU$13.00 a night per single room and fan cooled rooms @ AU$8.00 per single room, here in Bali, and only a 10 minute walk down to the beach and Outer Reefs here in friendly Tuban .
If it’s something a little more private you’r looking for take a look at the private bungalow for rent we have in our Business Directory and drop the owner Michael Owen an email. Michael is one of the old school surfers who rubs shoulders with the likes of Gerry Lopez and Peter McCabe just to name a couple of Indo Legends.
Finally, I just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about . We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
Best Regards from the No.1 surfing holiday destination that’s got it all, BALI , see ya’s here in 2008 !!!
