**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather website . Well as I mentioned, everyone over here in Bali is well rested after spending yesterday indoors for “Nyepi Day” That’s where those other monster type photos came from.
Anyway this morning after doing a 6.00am surf check of the Outer reefs and finding that wave height had dropped down into the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . There was bugger all wind at that time of the morning and with the tide was just starting it’s run in for a 2.4mtr High set for midday . The crew from here at Home Base decided on heading down to Uluwatu to see what was going down.
As ya’s can see in these latest photos I shot wave height down at Uluwatu was a solid 3-4ft+ and still clean and glassy when I arrived at 9.30am. The best waves were hitting the Main Peak section and there was only something like 12 surfers out there riding it. Further up at Temple’s the waves were peeling down the reef in the 2-3ft range and not a soul riding em. I packed up my camera gear at 1.00pm just as the wind was becoming a touch more on-shore but there were still some very nice waves breaking on the Main Peak and Temple section. Coming home passing Padang Padang and Impossible’s there was lucky to be the odd 1 footer breaking on Impossible’s and flat at Padang Padang.
Weather wise today it’s been a classic early season type day. Nothing but blue sky and light and variable wind. The temperature woulda easily reach 30 degree’s on the Celsius scale by midday.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that; –1AU$=Rp8,400 – 1US$=Rp9,100 –
