**** MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE **** Hello friends of Bali and thanks for slipping into the baliwaves.com for your daily dose of Bali surf and weather conditions . And today on the SUNDAY SESSION we’ve been out for another surf on good old Kuta Reef. Well half of the crew from Home Base were surfing Kuta Reef and the other half were surfing Middle Reef .
We took our first look at the Outer Reefs at 6.30am to find wave height was still hanging in there at 2-4ft+ between Kuta Reef and Airport left . At the time the wind was coming outta the NE @ 2-3knot and the tide just coming off the bottom of the Low.
We hit the water around 7.45am at Kuta Reef and wave height was still breaking in the 2-3ft range but with the tide running in hard for a 2.5mtr High it didn’t take long to get to fat and full. There was only around a dozen surfers in the water and I’m pretty sure everyone had some fun. Especially the young grommets from Kuta .
Further down on Middle Reef wave height was still hitting 3-4ft+ and the boys reckoned every now and again there was the odd double head high set wave. Down the end of the line on Airport Left there were some nice short but sweet rides with the average wave breaking at head high. We jumped back in our reef taxi at 11.00am just as the tide was really blowing it out. And as we got back near the shore it was pretty sad to see the waves smashing into the Pantai Restaurant / Ma Jolly Hotel and the Bintang Ramada Hotel. As soon as I get a minute I’ll drop a couple of more photos into the Kuta Cam Gallery to show ya’s the destruction to the shore line here in Tuban, that is being caused by the construction of the new breakwalls in this area…. “Yes we know how to control the Ocean…”
Weather wise out there today on the old baliwaves weather scale we have a 8-10. Blue sky and sunshine with a midday temperature of around 29 degree’s Celsius. The water temperature today is just as good at 23 degree’s Celsius.
