**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Hello surfers and once again welcome back to the baliwaves.com for your daily (7/7) dose of Bali surf and weather information. This morning I had to wait for the rain to let up before I could make the run down to the beach for an eye ball of the Outer Reefs.
So at 7.15am wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Lefts wasn’t showing at all, fla t city out there today. Well there was one surfer out at Middle Reef and I suppose I did see him catch one wave in the knee high class that went for about 6yrds. Then again there were 20 other surfers sitting on Airport Left, but sitting was all they were doing.
The first of our tides today is going to be a 2.1mtr High @ 9.00am then followed up by a 0.8mtr Low @ 3.00pm . Wind direction was coming cleanly outta the ESE @ 2-5knot and straight off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu.
Looking for a wave today your gunna be hard pressed to find anything worth wasting wax on. But for the grommets (at heart) you’d be best off heading down South to Uluwatu or hitting the beach breaks up along the Kuta to Legian stretch of sand on the High tide. Hopefully tomorrow we’ll see a slight improvement in wave height, fingers crossed. If not I’m going fishing.
Weather wise , like I mentioned we did have some dark cloud and heavy rain through the early am, and now at 8.45am I think there’s still a bit more to come yet. But when the Tradewind kicks in, and that should happen anytime from now on we will more than likely end up with just another hot and sunny day here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
The good guys from the Kandui Surf Resort up in the Mentawai islands have sent us through some more photos and surf reports so check them out in the Mentawai Report page . I’ve got another 70 odd photos to load into the Surfing Gallery for April and you nev er know ya might spot someone ya know in those. Plus we’ll keep ya’s covered through out the weekend with up-dates and new photos so stay tuned to the one and only Original Bali surf and weather report.
Datah Primary School : My next visit to the shool will be on the 23rd of this mont h and hopefully I’ll be able to show you some photos of the completed wall and new gate. I also have another batch of tex t books and colouring in pencils and other stuff to del iver for the kids.
Surfboard Tax outta Bali : There is none…. And the people responsible for spreading that economy damaging rumor should be placed inside a board bag, hung from a tree and slowly roasted over a burning garbage can.
Dreamland: A lot of people have asked me about whats happening down at the once beautiful beach called Dreamland. Well the word is that all the warungs and café’s have been pulled down for a developers dream. Just about all the sand has been washed away and the place is looking very sad, so are the locals who were once making a life down there.
Quicksilver Indonesia will be running a contest there with the waiting period starting on the 17th of this month . So if your going to be here in Bali get up to Keramas to see the hottest surfers in Indonesia doing their stuff. And if your not don’t worry because we’ll be on the scene to shoot video of the contest for ya’s to view here on the baliwaves.com. Surfing scheduled to start on Saturday the 20th of April, so turn up if ya can ! For the surfer / fisherman out there, and isn’t there a little bit of fisherman in all of us ? Well you guys can take a look at the up dated fishing report and photos from the last couple of trips out sport fishing here in Bali
