**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** G’Day crew and welcome back for the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report from your favourite holiday location of Bali .Well I finally made it down to the beach today for a recon of what was happening on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban .
The first of our tides today was 1.2mtr Low @ 9.30am and then followed up with a 1.7mtr High around 3.30pm . Light wind through the early morning and then the ESE -SE off-shore Tradewind kicked in like clockwork around 9.30am .
Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was breaking in the 1-2ft+ range but still for someone who hadn’t seen a wave for 5 days it looked like fun to me. There were waves being surfed on all locations with Middle Reef picking the bigger set waves in the shoulder high plus range.
Scott has come through with more of his photographic magic for us all again today by taking the trip up to Canggu as ya’s can see in these latest photos I’ve loaded up for ya’s. And here’s what Scotto had to say on surfing conditions at Canggu. “OK I slept in today and didn’t get to my distination till 8am. That destination being Canggu again, yeah I know same old stuff, but its a good place to shoot photos and its a pleasant ride to get up there. I’ll try and shoot something different for you all the next time around. Cause yes I know it can get a little boring looking at the same waves all the time. Apart from this small little issue some readers may be having with me, conditions were picture perfect again, although the swell has dropped of a touch with a longer waiting period between sets. I spent 4hrs up there standing on the hot sand but sorry to say didn’t get a huge amount of photos to choose from. The locals were again ruling the line up and the rest were picking up the scraps. Scraps being better than average waves back home. On the other hand the sun is out, the water is warm the waves are here and waiting for you to find them. If you do get off the ususal track a little bit you can still find some solitude away from the crowds you find at more popular spots. So what else would you want, get over here to Bali and make your own adventure. The swell forcast looks to be backing off again a touch tomorrow before hopefully a push of new swell arriving just in time for the weekend so watch this space as we’ll be bringing you all the acion as it happens right here in Bali. Swell Forecast ; Sometime around Thursday give or take 24hrs, if things go right we should start to see a solid swell coming outta the SW that should produce some World class surf through out Indonesia.
Mentawai islands ; The good guys up at the Kandui Surf Resort in the Mentawai islands of Sumatra have sent us through a big up-date on whats been happening around their surf riddled region of Indonesia. And it looks like they have been doing pretty good surf wis e. So you can find their info and photos in the Surf Report menue
