Kandui Surf Resort April 27 surf report.
I woke up early this morning. There was only a little color of orange and red on the horizon, but I could see that it was glassy and the waves were bigger out front than yesterday. I had a cup of Joe while waiting for more light. By the time the caffeine had kicked in, we could see that Rifles had a wave! A couple of us jumped in the dingy and headed out. It was inconsistent, but glassy, and the sets were a couple feet overhead and barreling! Unfortunately for me, I got a long barrel on my second wave but didn’t make it. I had so much speed when I fell that the impact broke my eardrum. Bummer! It wasn’t the blood and pain that I was bummed on, it was the fact that the waves were firing and I had to sit it out! This was one of those magical days that ever spot had a great wave! Our guys got good waves everywhere from Karambat Left to Kandui’s to Beng Beng’s to Bankvaults to Ebay and Pitstops…. Everywhere had great conditions and swell! It was a little more south than yesterday so Bankvaults was smaller than yesterday afternoon, but Rifles was bigger so that made up for it! And the kicker was, the only charter boat that was around yesterday headed back to Padang so the entire area was empty! Just a few guys at Wavepark to share the 10 spots or however many we had going on today. It was an amazing day for surf. I will try to gather up some pictures and show them to you. A picture is worth a thousand words, eh? We are expecting dropping swell tomorrow, but there is a couple of more swells on the charts and the conditions are forecast to be good as well. I need to heal up quick!
