**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning to all you surfers tuning in for the baliwaves.com surf and weather report . Firstly yesterday was a bit disappointing surf wise with only 1-2ft+ waves on offer and on-shore wind for the most of it. So I packed it in and went fishing, again.
This morning though when I went down for the 6.30am surf recon of the Outer reefs here in Tuban there were some ok looking waves in the 2-3ft range . The wind was blowing lightly outta the NNE @ 1-3knot so surfing conditions were clean and tidy. The tide was coming off the bottom of a 0.6mtr Low and on it’s way in for a 2.5mtr High around 12.00 noon. Yesterday saw the New Moon rising so we are gunna be in for some big tidal ranges over the next 3 days.
Not much breaking on Kuta Reef this morning, but every now and then there was a waist high set wave peeling off. Middle Reef already had 3-4 surfers in the water and there was some nice little head high waves tapering off for the boys. Airport left was similar in size to KR but may improve with a bit more water as the tide runs in. It would be a safe bet to say that if the wind remains clean Uluwatu would have some nice waves down on the Main Peak towards mid morning, possibly in the 3-4ft range. You’d also be able to find plenty of waves along the Kuta to legian stretch of beach breaks later in the day around the high tide.
Weather wise this Sunday morning we have a mainly blue sky over Tuban but looking down south towards Uluwatu there are some nasty looking cloud banks and they may have already had to run for cover down that way.
Ok seeing as though it’s Sunday and I’ve had a heavy week of surfing and fishing I’m gunna be taking it easy and catching up on some late email replies. But you’ll also be able to find new photos and surf reports from the good people up at the KANDUI SURF RESORT of the MENTAWAI ISLANDS under our report menue. Here’s another tip for any of you digital photographers heading to Bali .
