April 7 surf report
We had a southwest wind blowing this morning. Unusual for a morning wind, and not to good for anywhere but 4 Bobs which looked like it was maxing out at about chest high when a bomb set rolled through. So expectations were pretty low when we left this morning, but things didn’t turn out too bad. Hideaways was handling the wind all right and there were only a couple of guys out so some of our crew surfed the overhead waves that that spot had to offer, while most of the other guys surfed Beng Beng which was simi clean and overhead as well. Still others surfed shoulder high Ebay and Pitstops for a while. On the way back to the resort, many of the crew stopped and surfed Nipusi for a couple of hours. It was onshore, but not blown out, and it was overhead as well. So not a bad day all things considered. Hoping the wave height will hang in there until a nice swell comes in on Friday.
March 6 surf report
There was a little wind this morning coming from the southeast. That sounded good to us because our expected swell was to have some west in it so the lefts would have waves and be offshore. We like that kind of thing around here! Our first boat was out of here bright and early. They made a beeline to Hideaways to try and get it at high tide. The swell was there all right with waves going 2 or 3 feet overhead and only 2 or 3 other guys out. They surfed it until the tide got low and then headed for Beng Beng where it was also overhead and fun. There was a boat on it so there were a few people out, but it was fun and perfect for our guests that wanted a tamer wave. Our second boat took off after a nice breakfast and we ended up at Ebay. It was a foot or two overhead there and no one was out. Both boats made lunches just in case we wanted to surf a lot, and that is just what we did. The wind came up around 2 in the afternoon out of the southwest so we headed back to the resort and basically called it a day. A pretty good day at that! Hoping our swell will hang in there another day.
