Kandui Surf Resort April 29 surf report
There were light southeasterly’s blowing this morning and we were still seeing some good sets at 4 Bobs. The swell was coming in more from the south so the waves out front were about the same size as yesterday, even though our latest swell was fading. There was actually some good, overhead sets at Rifles, but the wind wasn’t cooperating. Our first boat headed around to Beng Beng where conditions were really good. The waves were overhead and no one was out, so it was no problem when our second boat showed up there as well. Plenty of waves to go around. Our new guests arrived on the island later, so we sent them out on a third boat. They hit Bankvaults. It had some size, probably 3 feet overhead or so, and there was no one out there either. The winds were not perfect for it, but it was plenty fun. After their session there, they were still frothing since it was their first day, so they went to Beng Beng as well. Their timing was good as our other boats were just getting out, so they had it to themselves. They surfed until well into the afternoon. 4 Bobs was the only thing anyone had the energy for late in the afternoon. It was still showing some head high sets and no one was out there either. One charter boat showed up today and was surfing fun Hideaways, but they are going back to Padang tonight. It’s been super uncrowded lately. I hope we can keep that up! Looks like a new swell will show up tomorrow. Not big, but good period, so we will see!
Kandui Surf Resort April 28th surf report
This morning started out as predicted. Sunny and glassy. No charter boats again today. We have only seen 2 charter boats in 4 days! I would like to keep that streak going. The boys were a little slow getting up because of all the hours they spent surfing yesterday. Rifles had a wave today. It was smaller than yesterday, but there were still some fun sets. Four Bobs was fun as well and some of the guys surfed out there too. Nipusi was looking good, but we were a little late in getting there because a storm that formed and came in out of the west and blew it out right after we arrived! The second half of the day was not as predicted. West winds and rain, turning to south winds and rain. Right around dusk the wind stopped and 4 Bobs was looking really good, but the crew was too deep into Happy Hour Bintang to change course by then! We are probably looking at smaller surf tomorrow, but hoping for better conditions.
