Kandui Surf Resort May 12 surf report
The swell was looking smaller this morning. The winds were light out of the southeast. The tide was around midday so everyone was taking their time before heading out. Eventually, a boat went to Kandui, shortly followed by a boat to Hideaways. Both spots were still overhead on the sets and fun. Just after noon, the sets became noticeably bigger and it was looking like it was going to happen, but the winds picked up as well and blew strong out of the south. Hideaways were still pretty fun with those winds but, after all the good surf we have had lately, it wasn’t good enough so we headed back. That afternoon, 4 Bobs had picked up a lot from the morning check, but the winds were sideshore and strong. That didn’t stop us from surfing there though. It was still fun. Only a straight east really blows that wave out. It’s fun just about every day! We are hoping the swell will hang around long enough to get some fun waves tomorrow.
