Kandui Surf Resort May 14th surf report
It was looking smaller than it has looked for a while out in front of the resort this morning. The winds were still blowing lightly from the southeast. Our first boat headed for Beng Beng. It was about head high there with nice conditions and no one out. The guys had packed a lunch so they stayed until mid afternoon and only saw a couple other surfers. Our second and third boat waited a bit for the midday high tide, and by that time the wind had died to almost nothing and what wind was still around had turned and was coming from the northeast. So they both went to Bankvaults. There was some overhead sets there it was clean enough that there were even a few nice barrels. It was mid afternoon before any of the boats returned to the resort! Those that had any energy left went to Bankvaults in the late afternoon. The tide was going out and it looked a little fast, so we decided to surf Nipusi instead. It was clean and overhead and we had it to ourselves most of the time. It was a fun was to end the day and we enjoyed some cold Bintangs and a nice sunset on the way home. We are hoping for bigger waves tomorrow.
