**** MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE**** Hello crew and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com again for your daily (7/7 non stop) fix of Bali surf and weather info.
Well this morning I couldn’t make the early surf call due to rain from 6.00am through til 10.30am. But I did get down for the recon of the Outer Reefs shortly after to find wave height has dropped off a bit more from yesterday but still some ok little waves brea king between Kuta Reef and Airport Left in the waist to chest high range.
Not quite enough swell for Kuta Reef to brea k but Middle Reef and Airport Left were providing some fun for the crew that were out there. The first of our tides today was a solid 2.6mtr High around 10.30am then followed up with reef exposing 0.1mtr Low @ 5.00pm. There was no wind earlier while it was raining but since then the ESE-SE Tradewind has kicked in blowing off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu @ 6-10knot.
I’d have to imagine the best waves to be found down at Uluwatu again today. I also managed to load ya’s up another New Video Clip of Uluwatu’s Racetrack yesterday. Plus I also stuffed another 110 best of the best photos into the May Gallery. So take a tour through the site and check it all out.
Weather wise ; well like I mentioned it was raining for the best part of the morning but as soon as the Tradewind kicked in it started to clear up. Right now at 1.00pm there’s pretty well nothing but blue sky and sunshine.
Swell Forecast (16th May – 22nd May) Well the last week has produced some solid swell through out Ind onesia that’s for sure. From Sumbawa in the East to Sumatra to the West and Bali and G-Land in between. Next week we’ll still be doing plenty of surfing as well but in more moderate conditions. This current swell we still have showing today will continue to back off until our next little boost starts to appear around Sunday morning. Not quite as big as the last swell but it should still be producing some good waves on the Reefs through till Monday before starting to taper off. Then furth er out around Wednesday there’s another smaller system moving in on us that will be showing best on the more open south facing locations. So I hope your hear to enjoy it all !
Mentawai islands ; The good guys from the Kandui Surf Resort have sent us through another new batch of photos showing off more perfection in their part of Ind o. And you’ll be able to suss them out in the Surf Report section. Here’s another baliwaves bonus for ya’s dept; Anyday now we’ll also be providing ya’s with surf reports and photos from the Macaronis Surf Resort up in the Mentawai’s. I was talking to a couple of friends yesterday who have been out on charter in the Ments and they reckon if they ever make it back up there again they won’t be going on a boat after stopping off in the Surf Resorts. That’s where they’ll be heading. The Surf Resorts up there just make it all too easy for their guests with speed boats to zap you around all day and then back to the Resort for R & R in the evenings.
G-Land ; I had a pnone call from G-Land this morning and Raymond said to tell you guys and girls that he’ll give you 15% discount off the published price. Just click on his G-Land banner over in our banner advertisement section and drop him an email.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta and the Aussie dollar is just getting stronger and stronger, currently 1AU$=Rp8,800 while 1US$=Rp9,145.
