**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning my fellow friends of Bali and welcome back for another issue of surf and weather info from the one and only daily Bali surf report website.
So, the old trick back is just about there so I was down the beach for the 6.30am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban . Where the hell is Tuban do I hear some of you say. Well Tuban is located just south of Kuta and is the quiter part of town and right on the Outer Reefs namely Kuta Reef to Uluwatu. Here in Tuban when you step out onto the streets your not instantly accosted by someone wanting to sell you something or to be your new best friend… lol.
Anyway wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left has had a severe drop in size overnight but still quite surfable at 2-3ft. Kuta Reef was peeling off in the waist to shoulder high plus range and there werte already a few surfers in the line-up. Middle Reef was faring slightly better swell wis e with the bigger sets in the shoulder to head high plus range. While Airport Left was brea king in the waist to shoulder high division.
The next tide will be another solid 2.7mtr High around 11.30am and then another dry reef exposing 0.1mtr Low around 6.00pm . The wind is already blowing off-shore coming outta the ESE-SE @ 4-7knot and is expected to strengthen throughout the day up to 15knot+.
Scott has already phoned in from down at Uluwatu where is at this very moment shooting some new photos for us to check out (after lunch) . Scott reckoned there’s also been a severe drop in wave height down at Ulu with wave height only showing in the 2-4ft class. And at 7.00am there were already 20 surfers spread across the Main Peak to Racetrack sections.
Weather wise out there today on the baliwaves.com 0-10 weather scale we’d have to give here a healthy 8-10. Nothing but blue sky and sunshine and she’ll be heating up for at least a 30 degree Celsius tempe rature by midday
Rusty Rumble Surfing Contest at Sanur Reef: Round 4 was run yesterday and after reading the press release from the ISC Tour Director Mr Tim Hain it sounds like it was action packed with some perfect waves peeling off on Sanur Reef.for the finalists. You can read the report and check some photos of the action on the ISC website, or on baliwaves.com in our Readers Report and Stories section.
Mentawai Islands , and the good guys up at the Kan dui Surf Resort have kept the surf reports flowing and we have more fresh news from Kan dui.
Swell Forecast : (3rd – 9th May) Well this current swell was pretty much right on track give or take 12hrs. Tomorrow should see a very slight drop in size but still plenty of solid waves happening around Bali . Sunday see’s a furth er drop in wave height before our next swell system starts to fill in around Monday or Tuesday and then the fun will begin a again. Then even furth er out towards the end of next week yet another solid swell should be making an appearance. So it’s gunna be waves, waves and more waves for the lucky buggers here on the happy little holiday island of B a l i .
