**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy crew and thanks for calling into the baliwaves.com for the one and only daily run down on surf and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bal i, or, I should say happy little surf haven holiday island of Bali.
My 7.00am surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height still only just hanging in there at 1-2ft+ between Kuta Reef and Airport Left but still some fun little waves for the boys and girls that were out there. The first of our tides today is gunna be another big 2.6mtr High at midday and then followed up with a reef exposing 0.1mtr just before sunset . The wind is only just starting to kick in now outta the ESE-SE and will slowly build up to around the 10-12knot+ range by midday. Off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu.
There were 4 surfers out on Kuta Reef when I was on the scene and it looked they were picking off some nice shaped waist high plus waves, but there was a bit of a wait for em. Middle Reef had a bit more size, brea king in the waist to shoulder high plus region and there was also 2-4 surfers out there having fun. Airport left had the most surfers out with at least a dozen riders in the line-up with wave height in the waist to waist high plus range.
Scotto has called in from where he is up at Canggu shooting a few new photos for us and reckons that wave height was just in the waist to shoulder high plus range at best. But surfer wis e there were at least 60 surfers sharing the 3 different sections.
Uluwatu would have been my pick for the best surf in Bali today and you could expect to find wave height at least in the head to head high plus range with clean off-shore wind.
Mentwai Islands ; The good guys from up at the Kan dui Surf Resort have also been busy chasing waves and they have sent us through a report of the results. So take a look in the Mentawai section on the surf report menue.
Rusty’s Rumble surfing contest which has been running at Sanur Reef on the East coast of Bali has been scoring some sick waves for Ind onesia ’s best surfers and if you want to check out how it’s been going so far (finals yet to come) take a look in our Stories section of baliwaves.com or visit the ISC website.
Weather wise here in Bali today we’ll have to give here another 8-10 on the baliwaves.com scale of weather. Blue sky and sunshine heading for a top tempe rature of around 32 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Forecast ; It’s all happening here in Bali folks. Small waves today before we should start to see a new system showing sometime late tomorrow afternoon and then building into a 6-8ft+ swell over the weekend. This should continue into next week with another system riding in on it’s back and keeping wave height in the medium to solid class and then furth er out towards the end of next week yet another solid swell system moving in on us.
