****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Hello friends of bali and thanks for tuning back into the baliwaves.com for your daily fix of Bali surf and weather conditions. And just like our swell forecast says we have had another slight bump in wave height with some double head high waves hitting Uluwatu.
My 7.00am surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was to find some nice waves in the 2-4ft range brea king between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still running out for a 0.9mtr Low and the wind already light off-shore outta the East.
It was a bit too low still for Kuta Reef but I’m sure as the tide filled back in for the 1.9mtr High scheduled for 3.00pm there woulda been a few nice head to head high plus waves peeling through.
Middle Reef was the brea king the best on the low tide, with set waves pushing 3-4ft+. But there was a solid early morning crowd of 2-30 surfers already on it.
Airport Left being the same as Kuta Reef, better suited to the rising tide would of also had some nice little waves from late morning onwards in the 2-3ft+ class.
Impossible’s had plenty of shoulder to head high plus lines bending down the reef with a few surfers scattered along the various sections.
Uluwatu when we arrived was mainly brea king on the low tide section called the Racetrack. There was only around 20 surfers in the water by 9.00pm and plenty of opportunities to get tubed. But as the tide turned and the ESE Tradewind picked up into the 15-20knot strength so did the number of surfers hitting it. But all in all it was still a mellow crowd of around 40 from the Main Peak down through the Racetrack.
Weather wise only a few clouds about this morning and by 10.00am they were all gone to leave nothing but blue sky. Tempe rature wis e down on the bukit it woulda easily have been up around 32 degree’s Celsius outta the shade.
Swell Forecast ; 24th – 30th June. Well I’ve only had a quick glance at the charts so far today and it looks like there’s not going to be any change in wave height today, 1-3ft+ depending on location. But hopefully by Wednesday afternoon we should start to see a new swell starting to build that should generate some double over head surf for Thursday and Friday, once again depending on location. Smaller waves through next weekend but still something to ride. Then early next week it’s looking positive for another solid system to smack into the reefs around Bali and Ind onesia . So all in all it’s looking good for another surf filled week here in Bali . But all the same I’ll be keeping an eye on things and if there are any changes I’ll keep ya’s In the loop.
Drop me a line if your interested in getting on board a 9.5mtr high powered ocean speed boat if you want to surf locations like Desert Pt, Scar Reef, Supersuck, Yo-Yo’s without having to wait days to get the their the old way. I’m thinking this type of trip is gunna be the New Way to hit Lombok and Sumbawa instead of the old 7 day slow boat system. Especially when it’s priced around the same range but doubling the amount of surf time !
And just a reminder that we still have some baliwaves.com T-Shirts and stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
Mentawai islands ; The good guys from the Kandui Surf Resort have sent us through another new batch of photos showing off more perfection in their part of Ind o. And you’ll be able to suss them out in the Surf Report section. Here’s another baliwaves bonus for ya’s dept; Anyday now we’ll also be providing ya’s with surf reports and photos from the Macaronis Surf Resort up in the Mentawai’s. I was talking to a couple of friends yesterday who have been out on charter in the Ments and they reckon if they ever make it back up there again they won’t be going on a boat after stopping off in the Surf Resorts. That’s where they’ll be heading. The Surf Resorts up there just make it all too easy for their guests with speed boats to zap you around all day and then back to the Resort for R & R in the evenings.
G-Land ; I had a pnone call from G-Land this morning and Raymond said to tell you guys and girls that he’ll give you 15% discount off the published price. Just click on his G-Land banner over in our banner advertisement section and drop him an email.

Finally, I just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
