**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hey good morning my surfing friends of Bali and welcome aboard the baliwaves.com surf and weather report for the Sunday Session . Well wave height has dropped right off this morning but for those prepared to surf at any cost there are still a few waves to be found.
My first surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height dropped down into the 1-1ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The first of our tides today was a 0.8mtr Low @ 7.00am and then we have a 2.4mtr High @ 1.00pm . Wind direction was light and variable earlier but around 8.30am the ESE-SE Tradewind kicked in providing clean off-shore wind between Legian and Uluwatu .
Not much happening surfwise on the Outer Reefs today . Although there was a few waist to waist high plus waves brea king on Middle Reef while the tide was still on the bottom of the Low. As the tide fills in Kuta Reef won’t have anything at all brea king but you could possibly find a small wave on Airport Left .
Best bet for a paddle today is going to be down at Uluwatu or down along the numerous beach breaks of the Kuta to legian strip on the higher end of the tide. What I’ve managed to do for ya’s is load up another 2 New Video Clips from Uluwatu last week, so if your not doing nothing take a flick through baliwaves video section. I’ve also got another 100 or so photos to load into the May Surfing Gallery and I’ll try and get a start on them through the day at some stage.
And I’m gunna have a real treat for ya’s later next week as starting Tuesday morning I’ll be setting off on a 9mtr ocean cruising speed boat for 2 nights and 3 days . Cover surfing locations of Desert Point on Lombok all the way through to Scar Reef, Supersucks and Yo-yo’s on the island of Sumbawa . So when I get back to Home base on Thursday I’ll start loading photos and video snipits of what we got up to. I’m thinking this type of trip is gunna be the New Way to hit Lombok and Sumbawa instead of the old 7 day slow boat system. Especially when it’s priced around the same range but doubling the amount of surf time !
Weather wise today it’s just another typical sunny Sunday here in Bali , prfect holiday / beach type weather . I’ll get ya’s a new swell forecast for next week later tonight or first thing tomorrow on the daily surf report.
And just a reminder that we still have some baliwaves.com T-Shirts and stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
Mentawai islands ; The good guys from the Kandui Surf Resort have sent us through another new batch of photos showing off more perfection in their part of Ind o. And you’ll be able to suss them out in the Surf Report section. Here’s another baliwaves bonus for ya’s dept; Anyday now we’ll also be providing ya’s with surf reports and photos from the Macaronis Surf Resort up in the Mentawai’s. I was talking to a couple of friends yesterday who have been out on charter in the Ments and they reckon if they ever make it back up there again they won’t be going on a boat after stopping off in the Surf Resorts. That’s where they’ll be heading. The Surf Resorts up there just make it all too easy for their guests with speed boats to zap you around all day and then back to the Resort for R & R in the evenings.
G-Land ; I had a pnone call from G-Land this morning and Raymond said to tell you guys and girls that he’ll give you 15% discount off the published price . Just click on his G-Land banner over in our banner advertisement section and drop him an email.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta and the Aussie dollar is just getting stronger and stronger, currently 1AU$=Rp8,850 while 1US$=Rp9,270 Give or take a hundred Rupiah.
