**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Well to me it seems like wave height has gotten even smaller since I did the morning up-date. Even so Scotto did his stuff up at Canggu early this morning and these photos are the proof. And here’s what Scott had to say on surfing conditions at Canggu today.
I was not planning on doing to much photography today so I slept in knowing that the swell was only going to be small. I got a phone call around 7am though and photography plans changed. I met up with some friends and we headed up to Canggu to see what was on offer. On Arrival conditions were clean and glassy, there was a strong crew already out and I watched a couple of the local boys get barrelled before I had set up. As the tide pushed in though all hope of this happening again had gone.
The sandbar was where most of the action was taking place for me today and although the sets were only in the knee to chest high range the waves were runing off nicely. There was some local professionals on location with Devis Ratif finding Canggu for a quick surf today.
Ok well there hasn’t been much today wave wise and I’m not sure what tomorrow will bring, there does appear to be some more swell coming in the next few days. So stay tuned were going to bring you all the action right here in surfings best location, Bali . Till next time! Scott.
Alright crew and don’t forget I’m off to check out the situation on the islands of lombok and Sumbawa tomorrow morning but I’ll be back on Thursday with all the photos and video ya’s can soak up. Plus Scotto will have Bali covered while I’m away. See ya’s in a couple of days.
**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello surfers and thanks for dropping in for the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report coming to ya’s live from the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Well our morning surf check of the Outer Reefs wasn’t showing any improvement in wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . Still only dribbling through in the knee to Waist high plus range. The first of the tides today was a 0.8mtr Low around the 7.30am mark , and then we got a 2.2mtr High around 1.30-2.00pm . Wind direction this morning is light and variable at this stage but the ESE-SE Tradewind should kick in anytime from now on in.
Looking for a wave this morning you could find some waist high plus sets brea king on Middle Reef here in Tuban . Around mid morning as the tide starts to run back in Uluwatu would have the odd head high wave brea king on the Main Peak . Around the same time the beach breaks of Kuta and Legian will provide some relief in the waist high range.
Scotto has phoned through from Canggu and said that wave height is a clean knee to waist, waist high plus up there with around 40 surfers in the water at 8.00am. And if you call back later this afternoon you can take a look at Scott’s photos and full run down on surfing conditions at Canggu today.
I’ve also had an sms surf up-date from one our crew who is over at G-Land for a quick 4 day stint. Peter said that there was clean little waist to head high waves brea king on Kongs this morning
Weather wise we had some rain through the early hours and then solid cloud cover on sun rise. Right now at 9.30am there’s still a fair bit of cloud over us but that should get shifted to else where as the Tradewind starts up. So come midday and we should be back to hot and sunny conditions here in Bali .
Swell Forecast (9th June – 15th June) . Ok then here’s how I see the next weeks swell situation around Bali . Today as we already know small waves in the 1-2ft+ range and that’s how it’s going to be again tomorrow. Then sometime through Wednesday we will have a brand new swell hitting our reefs and building into some solid waves come Thursday. Cranking from lakey Peak in Sumbawa to G-Land on East Java and Bali in between. This swell should hold into Friday tapering off through Saturday and then hopefully on Sunday we will get another pulse of green through till Monday. So hold onto your hats it’s gunna be on for young and old very soon.
And I’m gunna have a real treat for ya’s later next week as starting Tuesday morning I’ll be setting off on a 9mtr ocean cruising speed boat for 2 nights and 3 days . Cover surfing locations of Desert Point on Lombok all the way through to Scar Reef, Supersucks and Yo-yo’s on the island of Sumbawa . So when I get back to Home base on Thursday I’ll start loading photos and video snipits of what we got up to. I’m thinking this type of trip is gunna be the New Way to hit Lombok and Sumbawa instead of the old 7 day slow boat system. Especially when it’s priced around the same range but doubling the amount of surf time !
And just a reminder that we still have some baliwaves.com T-Shirts and stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
Mentawai islands ; The good guys from the Kandui Surf Resort have sent us through another new batch of photos showing off more perfection in their part of Ind o. And you’ll be able to suss them out in the Surf Report section. Here’s another baliwaves bonus for ya’s dept; Anyday now we’ll also be providing ya’s with surf reports and photos from the Macaronis Surf Resort up in the Mentawai’s. I was talking to a couple of friends yesterday who have been out on charter in the Ments and they reckon if they ever make it back up there again they won’t be going on a boat after stopping off in the Surf Resorts. That’s where they’ll be heading. The Surf Resorts up there just make it all too easy for their guests with speed boats to zap you around all day and then back to the Resort for R & R in the evenings.
G-Land ; I had a pnone call from G-Land this morning and Raymond said to tell you guys and girls that he’ll give you 15% discount off the published price . Just click on his G-Land banner over in our banner advertisement section and drop him an email.
