****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Hello surfers, thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com for your daily Bali surf and weather report. And before I get into it I’d just like to let everyone know about the “Coca-Cola for Bali coastal clean up day†being held at Legian beach 13th July 08 at 8.00am. For more information on this gath ering go to this link for the full run down. https://www.baliwaves.com/Content.aspx?Page=Stories&Section=Read&ID=43
Ok we’ll I was kinda expecting to see a little bit more size when I went down for the 6.45am surf check of the Outer Reefs. But at least there waves brea king in the 2-3ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left so we can’t complain. The first of our tides today is a 2.3mtr High @ 8.00am and then she’ll be running back out for a 0.5mtr Low around 3.00pm. The old ESE-SE Tradewind came up early and is currently howling off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu @ 8-15knot.
Kuta Reef has the best waves on the Outer Reefs this morning with wave height in the 2-3ft+ range. No shortage of surfers as usual for this time of the year, but it was brea king consistently.
Middle Reef, the tide was too full for Middle’s to be brea king properly this morning but come midday and there should be some fun sized waves in the 2-3ft+ range.
Airport Left was only showing 1-2ft waves, swell direction has a touch too much West for Airports.
Beach Breaks; You’d be able to find plenty of action up along the Kuta to Legian stretch of beachies through the morning high tide.
Uluwatu would be the best bet for a surf this morning for the crew down on the Bukit. You’d more than likely find wave height in the head to well over head high class down on the Main Peak . Scotto is currently down on location at Ulu and we’ll have more high quality photos for ya’s when he gets back to Home Base.
Weather wise here in Tuban, well more cloud cover again to start off the day. But with the Tradewind blowing hard we should be back to blue sky and sunshine by midday.
Swell Forecast (1st July – 6th July). Ok I’ve just had a quick brouse of whats happening down in the Ind ia n Ocean and it looks to me like wave height is going to be slowly tapering off over the next week. But we should still have some waves in the shoulder to head high plus range at locations known for picking up swell, eg: Uluwatu, Keramas etc. Then anytime from next Friday onwards it looks like there’s some serious swell going to be hitting Bali / Ind onesia . So I’ll keep an eye on he charts and keep ya’s in the know. At this stage it’s looking real positive.
Drop me a line if your interested in organizing your friends to get on board a 10mtr high powered ocean speed boat if you want to surf locations like Desert Pt, Scar Reef, Supersuck, Yo-Yo’s without having to wait days to get the their the old way. I’m thinking this type of trip is gunna be the New Way to hit Lombok and Sumbawa instead of the old 7 day slow boat system. Especially when it’s priced around the same range but doubling the amount of surf time !
And just a reminder that we still have some baliwaves.com T-Shirts and stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
Mentawai islands ; The good guys from the Kandui Surf Resort have sent us through another new batch of photos showing off more perfection in their part of Ind o. And you’ll be able to suss them out in the Surf Report section. Here’s another baliwaves bonus for ya’s dept; Anyday now we’ll also be providing ya’s with surf reports and photos from the Macaronis Surf Resort up in the Mentawai’s. I was talking to a couple of friends yesterday who have been out on charter in the Ments and they reckon if they ever make it back up there again they won’t be going on a boat after stopping off in the Surf Resorts. That’s where they’ll be heading. The Surf Resorts up there just make it all too easy for their guests with speed boats to zap you around all day and then back to the Resort for R & R in the evenings.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta and the Aussie dollar is just getting stronger and stronger, currently 1AU$=Rp8,875 while 1US$=Rp9,220 Give or take a hundred Rupiah.

Finally, I just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
