****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Hello again and welcome back to your baliwaves.com daily surf and weather station coming at ya’s live from your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This mornings 7.00am surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban to me was showing almost the same size as yesterday but maybe even a slight drop in wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Tidewise today we have 0.6mtr Low @ 9.00am and then we get a 1.8mtr High around the 3.00pm mark. Wind direction as usual was coming outta the ESE-SE and off-shore at 6-10knot and will more than likely increase in strength through out the day.
Kuta Reef had waves in the waist to shoulder high range with the occasional bigger set coming through every now and again. Unfortunately the tide was too low at the time but around mid to late morning there should be some fun waves happening.
Middle Reef was doing ok with shoulder to head high plus waves breaking. Even though Middle’s is a Low tide set up this morning waves were not lining up to well. But the little right hander not far away from Middle’s was.
Airport Left as the tide runs up will also have some fun sized waves in the 2-3ft+ range.
Padang Padang , Scott hit the road ealy this morning to see if the Rip Curl Padang Padang Cup surfing contest was on but unfortunately for the organizers and contestants wave height was only coming through in the 1-2ft+ range. And just this minute I’ve received a phone in report from Uluwatu and the contest has been moved down there. Bad luck for the holiday crew with Uluwatu surf closed to the public. And then starting from the 28th of July it will be again closed to the public for the Rip Curl Search event being run at Uluwatu.
Uluwatu , well shortly after Scott checked Padang Padang this morning he high tailed it to Uluwatu and started shooting us some new photos before the contest moved in. So call back later this afternoon for the full rundown and photos of Uluwatu this morning.
Weather wise we have a fine and sunny day here in Bali with an expected top temperature in the low 30’s Celsius.
Ok and here’s just a quick heads up on an up coming special even happening here in Bali on the 27th of July. Drop me a line if your interested in organizing your friends to get on board a 10mtr high powered ocean speed boat if you want to surf locations like Desert Pt, Scar Reef, Supersuck, Yo-Yo’s without having to wait days to get the their the old way. I’m thinking this type of trip is gunna be the New Way to hit Lombok and Sumbawa instead of the old 7 day slow boat system. Especially when it’s priced around the same range but doubling the amount of surf time ! These charters are only for private groups at this stage so organize your surfing buddies and get on board.

Mentawai islands ; The good guys from the Kandui Surf Resort have sent us through another new batch of photos showing off more perfection in their part of Ind o. And you’ll be able to suss them out in the Surf Report section. Here’s another baliwaves bonus for ya’s dept; Anyday now we’ll also be providing ya’s with surf reports and photos from the Macaronis Surf Resort up in the Mentawai’s. I was talking to a couple of friends yesterday who have been out on charter in the Ments and they reckon if they ever make it back up there again they won’t be going on a boat after stopping off in the Surf Resorts. That’s where they’ll be heading. The Surf Resorts up there just make it all too easy for their guests with speed boats to zap you around all day and then back to the Resort for R & R in the evenings.
