****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE**** Hello friends and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report for your Sunday Session.
Well I got of to a slow start this morning as yet yesterday another Newcastle Boy stepped up to the aisle and married a local Indonesian lass. Well done Kyle and Iis, I hope you guys have nothing but smooth sailing from here on in. Ok surfwise today there has been a drop in wave height between Kuta reef and Airport Left. Actual wave size was pushing the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. The first of our tides today was a 0.8mtr Low at 11.00am and then well see a small 1.4mtr High around 5.00pm. More light and variable winds this morning but the ESE – SE Tradewind eventually kicked in turning conditions clean off-shore from legian to Uluwatu.
As ya’s can see Scotto made the run down to see what was happening down at Uluwatu this morning. Apparantly there was only a very small turn up of surfers, but some pretty high profile names amounst those that did. Starting tomorrow Uluwatu will be closed to the surfing public with the organizers organizing the start of the Search event for the 30th of this month. And it looks like the crew won’t have to long to wait with a solid looking swell expected to start pushing the tempo on the same day.
I did my best to try and get a “pass†into the event. I actually thought I mighta had a chance with all the contest press release stuff we have been posting for all the labels this year. But nope, baliwaves.com doesn’t get in the gate. I’ll have to re evaluate the press release stuff and maybe just keep baliwaves for you holidaying free surfers. Maybe we will run a Poll on that issue and let you guys and girls decide for us.
Weather wise today around Bali we’ve had a pretty good run with mainly blue sky and sunshine for the beach lovers and pool side sun bakers.

Mentawai islands ; The good guys from the Kandui Surf Resort have sent us through another new batch of photos showing off more perfection in their part of Ind o. And you’ll be able to suss them out in the Surf Report section. Here’s another baliwaves bonus for ya’s dept; Anyday now we’ll also be providing ya’s with surf reports and photos from the Macaronis Surf Resort up in the Mentawai’s. I was talking to a couple of friends yesterday who have been out on charter in the Ments and they reckon if they ever make it back up there again they won’t be going on a boat after stopping off in the Surf Resorts. That’s where they’ll be heading. The Surf Resorts up there just make it all too easy for their guests with speed boats to zap you around all day and then back to the Resort for R & R in the evenings.
