G’Day friends of Bali and welcome back to your baliwaves.com daily (7/7) surf and weather report. Well I took my time heading down to the beach this morning for the surf recon of the Outer Reefs.
Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was only just showing in the 1-2ft range and that was only when the set waves came through. Nothing was breaking in between the sets. The first of our tides today was a 2.3mtr High @ 10.00am and then we get a reef exposing 0.2mtr Low around the 5.00pm mark. Today we also have a Full Moon rising so we’ll see some big tide differences over the next few days. The wind has been coming outta the ESE-SE @ 6-10knot+ since early this morning and will probably increase in strength throughout the afternoon.
Looking for a wave today there was a few smallies breaking on Airport Left in the knee to chest high range but they were few and far between. There was also a pretty solid crew out there waiting for them.
The beach breaks along the Kuta to Legian stretch would have a few smallies as well and probably worth a look along the top of the tide.
Uluwatu would be scoring the most size today along Bali’s West Coast and probably the only location where you might be lucky enough to find a tube ride.
Weather wise we have a good looking day outside with loads of blue sky and that sweet sunshine for all the beach lovers here on holidays.
Swell Forecast ; (16th – 22nd) Our short range expectations are not looking too bad and tomorrow the 17th (Independence Day) we should see a bit more swell on the reef and beach breaks. But this will only last through till Monday before it tapers back off and down into the 1-3ft range for the remainder of the week.
G-land, drop us an email if you want to cash in on the 10% discount offer at the G-Land surf camp.
The boys from Kandui Surfing resort in the Mentawai’s have also sent us some sick sick photos of there recent swell and you’ll find those on there surf report page. Plus the crew from Macaroni’s Surf resort have also sent us new photos and surf reports from their part of the Ments.
And just a reminder that we still have some baliwaves.com T-Shirts and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
We also have a NEW Home Base guest house close by to Airport Left and the other breaks of the Outer Reefs, 5 min walk. This place is more private and spacious with big air conditioned rooms, hot and cold water, tv and plenty of off street parking all enclosed in Balinese style. The rooms are AU$16.00 for a room with big double bed and AU$30.00 for a twin share room.
For the surfer / fisherman out there, and isn’t there a little bit of fisherman in all of us ? Well you guys can take a look at the fishing report and photos from the last couple of trips out sport fishing here in Bali

Money saver tip #752 : Anyone wanting to get out on a 3 island 7 day boat charter to Lembongan, Lombok and Sumbawa drop me a line cause I was talking to an operator last night and he’s offering the all inclusive trips for just AU$600.00 !!! Start organizing your crew now for the recommencement of these charters in March 08. Better still charter the boat privately with up to 10 of your friends for AU$6,000. all inclusive.
If it’s somewhere a little more private you’r looking for take a look at the private bungalow for rent we have in our Business Directory and drop the owner Michael Owen an email. Michael is one of the old school surfers who rubs shoulders with the likes of Gerry Lopez and Peter McCabe just to name a couple of Indo Legends.
Finally, I just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
