Up early again today 4am to be precise, why? don’t ask, I don’t know. Sleep would have been the preferred option but thats the way it goes sometimes, I’m a morning person by way of genes getting it honestly from the family tree. Anyways I knew that the high tide was going to be later in the morning so I didn’t hit the road till 7:30am. I headed down to Uluwatu to see what swell was hitting the reef down that way.
On arrival I found about 3o guys on the main peak, making the most of the 3-5+ft conditions. Head high to almost double over head plus on the biggest sets. There was plenty of tubes being had, one guy got an absolute cracker of a tube from the main peak. It was a deep spitting set wave that allowed him out then into the race track section till he dissappeared. Well done, there was plenty of hoots from the cliff for his efforts too. But he was not the only one to get a good tube but his was a bit of a standout in my opinion while I was on the scene.
I was only site for about an hour as the tide pushed in and came up to almost top. There was a couple of guys surfing out on the bombie and there was about another dozen up on the temples section of reef. Wind was almost dead off shore making conditions really clean, blowing at around 8-10knots. There was some cloud cover which blew over with the look of rain but that didn’t eventuate while I was there. Right now it’s a little overcast outside my window but that shouldn’t last to long I hope.
Ok so that was some of the available waves down at Uluwatu today. For me its just another beautiful day in Bali, sunshine, good waves and warm water. Does it get any better? Till next time. Scott.
