****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Hello crew and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for another day of surf and sunshine. And just like our little swell forecast says we do have a nice little spike in wave height this morning.
I took a look at surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs of Tuban at 7.00am to find some clean little waves in the 1-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Not much change in the tide factor today with the first of them being a 0.4mtr Low around 6.30am and then filling back in for a 2.4mtr High around the 12.30pm mark.Once again the ESE Tradewind was up early and blowing clean off-shore from Legian to Uluwatu in the 5-8knot range.
With the low tide through the early am the best waves on the Outer Reefs were coming through on Middle Reef. As ya’s all should know by now Middle’s is a low tide break while Kuta Reef and Airport Left / Right are better suited to the rising tide. Middle Reef had some nice little peelers peeling off in the waist to head high plus range and only a few early morning riders out there at that time. Kuta Reef was still needing a bit more size, maybe there’ll be a smallie or two out there around mid morning. Airport Left was picking up a touch more size than KR and should be producing waves in the waist to shoulder high range on the rising tide. There’ll also be a shit load of beach breaks down along the Kuta to Legian stretch of sand to choose from around lunch time.
Down on the Bukit this morning you would have also found some mechanical little tubes breaking at Bingin in the waist to chest high range. It woulda been a bit low for Balangan but as the tide fill is there might be the odd head high set rolling in. I’m not sure whats going on down at Uluwatu but hopefully by now it’s open again for the holiday crew. If so there’d have to be a few 3-4 footers breaking there today.
We won’t be doing to much today except getting ready for another Home Base road trip tomorrow morning way before the sun comes up. But our man Scotto is on location at Canggu and has just phoned through to say that it’s another day of who’s who in the hot surfing department up there this morning. So as soon as Scott gets back to Home Base we’ll give ya’s a look at Canggu today.
Weather wise it’s another perfect holiday type day going down in Bali today. Blue sky, off-shore wind and waves breaking at just about everywhere along Bali’s west Coast.
Swell Forecast ; Well just for a quick summary I see it as getting a small boost in wave height on Tuesday and backing back off a touch Wednesday. Then sometime around Thursday we get a better looking swell producing system hitting the island of Bali. Then further out again Saturday see’s another swell filling in for the weekend.
I’ve also dropped another 160 photos into the July Surfing Gallery so take a look at those while your waiting for the Video’s. The boys from Kandui Surfing resort in the Mentawai’s have also sent us some sick sick photos of there recent swell and you’ll find those on there surf report page. Plus the crew from Macaroni’s Surf resort have also sent us new photos and surf reports from their part of the Ments.
And just a reminder that we still have some baliwaves.com T-Shirts and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
