****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE**** Howdy folks and thanks for hanging around for your baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report. And it hasn’t been too a bad a day for surfing around Bali with another boost in wave height (re- swell forecast).
I took my first surf check of the Outer Reefs around 7.00am and there was plenty of waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airports in the 2-4ft+ range.
Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with only a light on-shore WNW breeze.
Tide wise the first of our tides today was a 0.9mtr Low @ 11.00am and then staying in that range for the following 2hrs. Then only filling back in with a 1.2mtr High around sunset.
Kuta Reef had waves in the chest to head high plus range and there was only around a dozen surfers out there at the time I was down there.
Middle Reef had at least 20 surfers on it but wave height was a much more conisistent 3-4ft+
Airport Left woulda only had 10 surfers tops out there with some solid 4ft set waves.
Impossible’s had around 50 surfers spread out along the long stretch of reef with 2-3ft+ lines bending down the line towards Bingin.
Uluwatu as ya’s can see in these latest photos I shot this morning was every now and then producing some solid waves in the 3-5ft+ range. When I first arrived there was only around 20 surfers riding the Racetrack section and another half a dozen surfers sitting on the Main Peak. Wind direction by this time had swung right around to the SW and light onshore. Just as I was packing up my stuff the wind looked like it was finally starting to turn back off-shore from the ESE-SE.
Swell Forecast ; (3rd -10th) Lets just hope the forecasters have got it wrong. Currently the charts are calling for small to micro sized waves for the remainder of this week. Then sometime around Sunday things will be getting back to normal for Bali with a moderate swell arriving. It’s also looking good for another swell behind that one. So all in all, not much happening for rest of this week but next week it will be on everywhere !
