No internet connection yesterday folks,,,, but she’s back on again now. Here’s the report from the 13th to keep ya’s occupied until I get back from the beach with the latest surf and weather info.
****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE**** Hello again friends of Bali and thanks for taking the time to checlk out the baliwaves.com for the daily round of Bali surfing and weather conditions here on your favourite surfing holiday island destination.
I just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have the best surfing trip of your life and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is over in Bali.
Well today wave height has finally dropped back a notch or two in wave height giving us a bit of a breather before the next scheduled swell starts to show (tomorrow afternoon). My 7.30am surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height in the 1-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
Surfing conditions are once again very clean and tidy here along Bali’s South Western Coastline
Wind direction coming outta the ESE @ 5-10knot blowing straight off-shore between Kuta and Uluwatu.
Tide wise , the first of our tides today was 2.1mtr High @ 9.00am and then she’ll be running back out for a 0.4mtr Low around 3.30pm. We also have a Full Moon rising tomorrow night so we’ll be starting to see some big differences between the high and low water mark over the next week.
Kuta Reef wasn’t quite big enough to be producing much action this morning with wave height only in the knee to waist high plus range.
Middle Reef was also a bit full with the morning high tide but should have a few waves in the chest to head high range on the dropping tide.
Airport Left was picking up the most swell this morning breaking in the chest to head high high class and fairly consistent on the high tide.
Canggu ; Scotto provided us with a new batch of photos from canggu he took yesterday and it looks like there was some nice waves up there with the local surfers tearing it up. Photos 1-10 on todays report.
Best Bet for a wave today would be down at Uluwatu and you’d probably find wave height in the chest to head hig plus range.
Swell Forecast (10th – 16th) So the predictors are calling for wave height to be tapering off today through till Saturday. Then with the Full Moon set to rise on Sunday the 14th we will start to see a new swell generator producing some medium sized waves peaking on Monday the 15th. Then right behind her we have another system that will kick back in around the 17th. So it’s looking real good with plenty of waves and locations on offer over the coming week.
G-Land ; thanks to the G-land Surf Camp for sending us some new photos from G-land. And you can take a look at those on the G-Land page under the report section. You can also drop us an email if you want to cash in on the 10% discount offer at the G-Land surf camp
Mentawai Islands ; the crew from both the Kandui Surf Resort (NEW PHOTOS) and Macaroni’s (NEW PHOTOS) have sent us through some new reports and photos so if your interested in seeing whats been happening up in that region of Indonesia check out both those surf reports in our report section.
Don’t forget you can drop us an email through the “Contact†link if you have any questions that might help your next vist to the holiday island run a bit smoother.
We also have a NEW Home Base guest house close by to Airport Left and the other breaks of the Outer Reefs, 5 min walk. This place is more private and spacious with big air conditioned rooms, hot and cold water, tv and plenty of off street parking all enclosed in Balinese style. The rooms are AU$16.00 for a room with big double bed and AU$30.00 for a twin share room
Bali Fishing New’s ; I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
Exchange Rates ; Well the way the Australian dollar has been crashing the last couple of weeks it’s been hard to say what it’s doing today but it would be still ranging between Rp7,450 – Rp7,500 depending on location. While the US$ is still pretty stable at Rp9,150.
And just a reminder that we still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$13.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
Don’t forget if any of you lot want to grab some photos or video footage surfing here in Bali and we can easily arrange it for ya. Or if ya check out the Wotashot.com banner you might even find a photo of you on your last trip to Bali.
Money saver tip #752 : Anyone wanting to get out on a 3 island 7 day boat charter to Lembongan, Lombok and Sumbawa drop me a line cause I was talking to an operator last night and he’s offering the all inclusive trips for just AU$600.00 !!! Start organizing your crew now for the recommencement of these charters in March 08. Better still charter the boat privately with up to 10 of your friends for AU$6,000. all inclusive.
If it’s somewhere a little more private you’r looking for take a look at the private bungalow for rent we have in our Business Directory and drop the owner Michael Owen an email. Michael is one of the old school surfers who rubs shoulders with the likes of Gerry Lopez and Peter McCabe just to name a couple of Indo Legends.
Best Regards from the No.1 surfing holiday destination that’s got it all, BALI , see ya’s here in 2008
