****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE**** Hello surfers and once again welcome back to your baliwaves.com for the daily run down on surfing and weather conditions here on your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Well yesterday afternoon and right on schedule wave height started to increase in size as per our swell forecast. This morning when I went down for the 7.00am surf recon of the Outer Reef here in Tuban wave height was pushing the 3-5ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
Surfing conditions were still pretty clean and smooth but the wind was coming outta the WNW @ 2-5knot and stayed that way until just on 12.00noon before swinging back to the ESE and straight off-shore from Kuta to Uluwatu.
Tide wise Our first tide was a 2.3mtr High @ 10.00am and then we’ll be in for 0.3mtr Low around the 4.30pm mark.
Kuta Reef as ya’s can see in these latest photos I shot out there this morning was producing waves consistently in the 2-4ft range. And when the wind finally swung off-shore combined with the tide running out got even better. There were around 45 surfers in the water when we pulled anchor and pretty much the normal when the swell hits.
Middle Reef had set waves pushing the double over head class and there wre quite a few takers out there before the tide hit the top of the high.
Airport left was also pretty popular this morning with wave height also in the chest to head high plus range.
Airport Right according to one of my reef boat driving friends had around 50 Japanese surfers on it but in need of the off-shore wind that didn’t arrive until the tide was getting wrong.
Uluwatu woulda been a solid 6-8ft this morning I reckon but it woulda been ugly while the wind was on-shore. Later this afternoon as the tide runs out you’d also be able to score some nice waves at locations such as Bingin, Impossible’s and there may even be a little wave for the body boarders at Padang Padang.
Weather wise we had solid cloud cover through until the off-shore kicked in, but now at 2.00pm we are back to basics with plenty of blue sky and sunshine for the beach lovers here on vacation.
Photo Up-Date’s Dept ; well we’ve got new photos on both our Mentawai report pages and new photos on the G-land page, so take a look at what’s been happening in other parts of Indo while you’re here at the baliwaves.com.
Swell Forecast (10th – 16th) So the predictors are calling for wave height to be tapering off today through till Saturday. Then with the Full Moon set to rise on Sunday the 14th we will start to see a new swell generator producing some medium sized waves peaking on Monday the 15th. Then right behind her we have another system that will kick back in around the 17th. So it’s looking real good with plenty of waves and locations on offer over the coming week. And even further out around the 20th-21st we could be in for the biggest swell of the year !
G-Land ; thanks to the G-land Surf Camp for sending us some new photos from G-land. And you can take a look at those on the G-Land page under the report section. You can also drop us an email if you want to cash in on the 10% discount offer at the G-Land surf camp
Mentawai Islands ; the crew from both the Kandui Surf Resort (NEW PHOTOS) and Macaroni’s (NEW PHOTOS) have sent us through some new reports and photos so if your interested in seeing whats been happening up in that region of Indonesia check out both those surf reports in our report section.

We also have a NEW Home Base guest house close by to Airport Left and the other breaks of the Outer Reefs, 5 min walk. This place is more private and spacious with big air conditioned rooms, hot and cold water, tv and plenty of off street parking all enclosed in Balinese style. The rooms are AU$16.00 for a room with big double bed and AU$30.00 for a twin share room
Bali Fishing New’s ; I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
Exchange Rates ; Well the way the Australian dollar has been crashing the last couple of weeks it’s been hard to say what it’s doing today but it would be still ranging between Rp7,450 – Rp7,500 depending on location. While the US$ is still pretty stable at Rp9,150.
And just a reminder that we still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$13.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
