****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Hello surfers and thanks for tuning into your one and only original baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on your favourite holiday island of Bali.
This mornings surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was only showing wave height in the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. And with the low tide the only section that was producing waves was at Middle Reef. Middle’s was actually looking ok with sets breaking in the chest to head high class and around 20 surfers out there. Nothing surfable breaking on Kuta Reef or at Airports.
Surfing conditions were clean and smooth but with the wind blowing light on-shore outta the WSW @ 2-5knot through the morning session and picking up to around the 5-9knot strength by midday.
Tide wise the first of our tides today was a 0.2mtr Low @ 7.00am and then we had a 2.0mtr High around the 1.00pm mark.
As ya’s can see in these latest photos I shot this morning I was on location down at Uluwatu. Apon arrival the tide was only just starting it’s run back in and the Racetrack was providing a few tube rides in the 2-3ft class. As the tide filled in more the surfing focus shifted up to the Main Peak and Temple sections. Crowd wise it was pretty crowded today and at one stage just before I packed up shop I counted 120 surfers in the water between Temple’s and the Racetrack.
Photo up-date ; I know it’s been a long time but last night I had a friend drop off around 35 photos he’s collected from a couple of the different night clubs in Kuta. So as soon as this report is on-line I’ll start loading them into our Night Club Gallery. And don’t forget there’s also a new batch in our Kuta Cam Gallery.
Ok get ready because as everyone knows by now we are expecting a solid swell to start showing on our reefs through Sunday and Monday.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
G-Land ; thanks to the G-land Surf Camp for sending us some new photos from G-land. And you can take a look at those on the G-Land page under the report section. You can also drop us an email if you want to cash in on the 10% discount offer at the G-Land surf camp

We also have a NEW Home Base guest house close by to Airport Left and the other breaks of the Outer Reefs, 5 min walk. This place is more private and spacious with big air conditioned rooms, hot and cold water, tv and plenty of off street parking all enclosed in Balinese style. The rooms are AU$16.00 for a room with big double bed and AU$30.00 for a twin share room
Bali Fishing New’s ; I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
Exchange Rates ; Well the way the Australian dollar has been crashing the last couple of weeks it’s been hard to say what it’s doing today but it would be still ranging between Rp7,450 – Rp7,500 depending on location. While the US$ is still pretty stable at Rp9,150.
And just a reminder that we still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$13.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
Don’t forget if any of you lot want to grab some photos or video footage surfing here in Bali and we can easily arrange it for ya. Or if ya check out the Wotashot.com banner you might even find a photo of you on your last trip to Bali.
Money saver tip #752 : Anyone wanting to get out on a 3 island 7 day boat charter to Lembongan, Lombok and Sumbawa drop me a line cause I was talking to an operator last night and he’s offering the all inclusive trips for just AU$600.00 !!! Start organizing your crew now for the recommencement of these charters in March 08. Better still charter the boat privately with up to 10 of your friends for AU$6,000. all inclusive.
If it’s somewhere a little more private you’r looking for take a look at the private bungalow for rent we have in our Business Directory and drop the owner Michael Owen an email. Michael is one of the old school surfers who rubs shoulders with the likes of Gerry Lopez and Peter McCabe just to name a couple of Indo Legends.
