****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Hello again friends and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com original Bali surf report for more of the latest info on todays surfing and weather conditions around Bali.
Well I took my first look at surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs around 8.30am and there were definite signs of the new expected swell. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left was ranging between 2-4ft+. But with the wind blowing light on-shore outta the WSW @ 3-6knot.
Tide info ; The first of our tides today was a 0.3mtr Low @ 8.00am and then running back in for a 1.8mtr High @ 2.00pm
Middle Reef was were the action was on the Outer Reefs with the morning Low tide Middle’s is the only section of reef suited. But as the tide started to fill in so did wave height continue to build. Kuta Reef had plenty of surfers out there right through until dark with wave height on the Outer Reefs now ranging into the 4-6ft+ class.
Uluwatu ; As you can see in these latest photos we have on site, thanks to Scotto who was on the scene down there for the morning Low Tide Racetrack session. Here’s what Scott had to say on Ulu today.
Today I headed for Uluwatu expecting a bigger swell to be hitting the reef. On arrival I was dissapointed to see that size wise it had not yet arrived. There was still some pretty nice waves being ridden through the race track though as the tide pushed in. Sets were ranging in the 2-4ft range and occasionaly a slightly bigger one would pour through the line up.
When I got down to Uluwatu at 9am there was around 20+ surfers making the most of the waves. Over the couple of hours that I was there that crowd grew with every passing minute. The main peak was still a little wobbly first up but as the tide pushed and got higher it was straightening up and sorting itself out. By the time I left at around 11am things were begginning to look pretty good on the main peak, with the odd set breaking through in to the racetrack instead of sectioning off as per earlier. Set wave size also seemed to be on a regular increase so hopefully that is a sign of the expected pulse hitting us sometime within the next 24 hours. When it does you will find out just how good or bad it was right here. So till next time. Scott.
Ok with the swell expected to boost even more overnight and into tomorrow morning there’s a big chance that everyone’s favourite wave (be it to watch or surf) Padang Padang might be worth a look if the wind holds off for the morning Low tide.
