****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Howdy surfers and thanks for tuning into the baliwaves for more surf and weather info from your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Well this morning started off as “one of those days†My first surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban went down at 7.00am. Wave height had dropped off a touch but there was still the odd 2-3ft+ wave breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. But the wind coming outta the WNW @ 4-7knot. Now that’s when my dilemma began. Where to shoot some new photos for ya’s. Ya see I had my mind set on just jumping on my motor bike and making the 45minute trip down to the Bukit. But with the wind now blowing on-shore here along the West Coast it woulda been sub standard.
That’s when my good friend Devis Ratif and Quicksilver (Indonesia) team rider called me and asked if I wanted to go and search for some waves with him. Well first of all we made a dash up to Canggu, arriving around 10.30am There was some solid waves breaking on all of the 3 main sections at Canggu but it wasn’t handling the size and on-shore wind all that well.
So from there we decided to cut across the island to Keramas, arriving around 12.00 noon. Wave height was pushing through in the 3-4ft+ range and even though by this time the wind had swung right around to the South surfing conditions were still reasonably clean. As ya’s can see in these current photos on baliwaves.com.
There was only arouns 10 surfers in the water when we hit the beach and of-course we were told “ya shoulda been here earlier, it was cranking..†By 1.30pm the wind was picking up in strength and we were just about done. Leaving one lone surfer out there by himself.
Tide wise today the first was a 2.2mtr High @ 10.30am followed by a 0.3mtr Low around 4.00pm.
Weather wise we’ve had a another perfect holiday type day with nothing but blue sky and sunshine. Temperature wise the mercury woulda peaked around 30 degree’s Celsius outta the shade.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about.
