Oct 15 surf report
We were looking for some substantial surf this morning, but it just wasn’t
happening. There were some waves at 4 Bobs and some of the guys got right on it, but it wasn’t much bigger than yesterday afternoon. Pretty fun though, and there
were even some barrels. Slowly, the surf began to rise through the morning. The
wind came up out of the southeast so we sent a boat to Beng Beng. It was clean
there, but the rising swell was pretty south so there just was not much size. The
swell continued to rise through the afternoon and the wind gradually clocked around to the south, then southwest. 4 Bobs cleaned up right away, and so did Karambat Left. The sets were going overhead at both spots, with some pretty solid ones at 4 Bobs. Some of the guys went out at Rifles late in the afternoon. It was overhead out there and simi clean. Not epic, but it gave the guys a taste of what Rifles can be like. We are hoping for some bigger, cleaner surf tomorrow.
Oct 14th surf report
Things were looking a little smaller out front this morning. That didn’t stop our
guys from doing an early morning, solo session out there though. It was still chest
high plus, so it was plenty of fun. A boat eventually headed out and the guys ended up at Beng Beng again. It was smaller today, but still fun. The winds went
southwest in the afternoon and 4 Bobs was again the call. There were some shoulder high sets coming in once in a while and it was clean and plenty fun. A few of the guys also surfed Karambat left and John Candy’s. Those spots were pretty small, but still fun with no one else out. We are hoping for a significant swell to at least be starting to show by morning.
