****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE**** Hello crew and welcome back to the one and only original baliwaves.com for more surf and weather info from your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This mornings 7.00AM surf recon of the Outer Reefs was still showing wave height to be in the 2-3ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
Surfing conditions were clean and smooth but with the wind blowing light on-shore outta the West @ 1-3knot. Around 8.00AM it switched back to the East but has since then been fluxuating from SW to SE.
Tide wise today the first was a 0.1mtr Low @ 7.00Am and then we had a 2.0mtr High @ 1.00PM.
The tide was too low for Kuta Reef and Airport Left when I was down at the beach but there woulda been a few waist to head high waves breaking for the boys and girls as the tide started to run back in.
Middle Reef had quite a few surfers in the water by 7.00AM and there was some nice looking waves breaking in the chest to head high plus region.
Impossible’s had plenty of waves in the 2-3ft+ range bending down the reef when I passed by at 9.00AM on my way down to Uluwatu and there only looked to be around a dozen or so surfers scattered through em.
Uluwatu as ya’s can see in these latest photos I shot this morning was still producing some solid 4ft set waves on the Main Peak and up at Temple’s. But as the tide started to get towards the top wave height seemed to be backing down a touch. There was around 60 surfers in the water between Temple’s and the Main Peak. And if it’s tube ride’s your looking for then I’d be heading down that way for the afternoon run out tide on the Racetrack.
Trivia dept; Ok you may or may not know but we currently have the Asian Beach Games happening here in Bali. And if you’re here at the moment you should make your way down to Kuta Beach for a look at the many different events taking place. Tivia Q; how many of the Indonesian surfers failed the urine test… ?
Weather wise , well what can I say other than Bali has once again produced the goods. Blue sky and sunshine with an expected top temperature of around 32 degree’s Celsius. Water temperature absolutely a perfect 24 degree’s Celsius.
Ok tomorrow we have a local Trolling / Sport Fishing competition scheduled to kick off at 6.30AM so I won’t be posting a report I’m sorry to say. But I will have a full report on the event along with photos of the day and I’ll load that onto the fishing page as soon as I recover from the presentation party.
Photo Up-Date ; The good guys at the G-Land Surf Camp have sent us through some new photos from the last swell we had.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
G-Land ; “SPECIAL OFFER FOR BALIWAVES.COM VIEWERS, 10% DISCOUNT†thanks to the G-land Surf Camp for sending us some new photos from G-land. We also have a NEW Home Base guest house close by to Airport Left and the other breaks of the Outer Reefs, 5 min walk. This place is more private and spacious with big air conditioned rooms, hot and cold water, tv and plenty of off street parking all enclosed in Balinese style. The rooms are US$15.00 for a room with big double bed and US$28.00 for a twin share room
Bali Fishing New’s ; I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
Exchange Rates ; Well the way the Australian dollar has been crashing the last couple of weeks it’s been hard to say what it’s doing today but it would be still ranging between Rp6,150 – Rp6,250 depending on location.
And just a reminder that we still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$15.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
Don’t forget if any of you lot want to grab some photos or video footage surfing here in Bali and we can easily arrange it for ya. Or if ya check out the Wotashot.com banner you might even find a photo of you on your last trip to Bali.
If it’s somewhere a little more private you’r looking for take a look at the private bungalow for rent we have in our Business Directory and drop the owner Michael Owen an email. Michael is one of the old school surfers who rubs shoulders with the likes of Gerry Lopez and Peter McCabe just to name a couple of Indo Legends.
