BaliSport Fishing Scene; 2nd October 08
Hello my fisherman friends and I thought I better load up some new photos of what we’ve been upto on the fishing scene around Bali
Well September ended up being pretty quite on the sport fishing scene here in Bali. I think one of the main factors through the first half of the month was with the unusually cold water temperature. Jigging was still the most productive method for catching fish and we still managed to put some fish on the table.
Over the last few days the fishing scene has really turned around and there has been some large schools of “Jack Fish” (Trevally family) busting up the surface from Jimburan bay through to Uluwatu. October usually signifies the start of our main fishing season and so far so good. Yesterday the 1st of October saw one boat (traditional Balinese Outrigger) bring home 18 fish all in the 5-8kg class.
I’ll be going out for a look after lunch today and I’ll be taking my little water proof digimatic with me. Hopefully the schools will still be hanging around and willing to munch on our home made spinning lures. This type of fishing is good fun using light spinning rods out of our little boats. With the main factor being a sturdy spinning reel (Penn 9500’s) and equally strong treble hooks. The rest is up to the angler !!!
Ok crew don’t hesitate to send me an email if you would like to come out with us for some sport fishing Balinese style. Chances are it’ll be the best day fishing you have ever had.The boys charge AU$50.00 per person with a minimum of two guests for the day with everything but your hat included. Plus they’ll even throw together a Balinese fish BBQ for ya afterwards. So drop me a line through the “CONTACT” LINK
Best Regards from Bali
