****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Hi crew and it’s good to be back in Bali I tell ya’s ! Sorry about the sudden disappearance and lack of surf reports over the last 3 days but I was called out on a sudden trip off island. And all I can say is that it’s bloody good to be back on the holiday island of Bali.
Ok so I got off the plane at 9.30AM this morning and was down for a surf check as soon as I stashed my bags. Wave height on the Outer Reefs was still showing in the 2-3ft+ range and there were some nice waves breaking on Middle Reef.
Surfing conditions were clean and smooth even though the wind was coming lightly outta the West @ 1-4knot. I only hung around long enough to say hello to the boys and then made a bee line for Uluwatu, as ya’s can see in these latest photos I’ve dropped onto your monitor.
Wave height at Uluwatu was showing in the 3-4ft+ range and with a middish sorta tide the Racetrack section was spinning off some deep tube rides. Somewhere around 50 surfers were in the water spread out between the Main Peak and Racetrack sections.
Alright then folks just a quick report today just to get the ball rolling again but I will be back with more indepth news on Bali’s surf and weather conditions again for ya’s tomorrow morning. I also have a new batch of bodyboarder photos to get loaded up so if your into that hang in there for those.
Weather wise it’s been a mixture of blue and grey sky but all the same steamy hot with the mercury reaching 33 degree’s by midday.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
G-Land ; “SPECIAL OFFER FOR BALIWAVES.COM VIEWERS, 10% DISCOUNT†thanks to the G-land Surf Camp for sending us some new photos from G-land. We also have a NEW Home Base guest house close by to Airport Left and the other breaks of the Outer Reefs, 5 min walk. This place is more private and spacious with big air conditioned rooms, hot and cold water, tv and plenty of off street parking all enclosed in Balinese style. The rooms are US$15.00 for a room with big double bed and US$28.00 for a twin share room
Bali Fishing New’s ; I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
Exchange Rates ; Well the way the Australian dollar has been crashing the last couple of weeks it’s been hard to say what it’s doing today but it would be still ranging between Rp7,100 – Rp7,150 depending on location. While the US$ is still pretty stable at Rp9,150.
And just a reminder that we still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$15.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
Don’t forget if any of you lot want to grab some photos or video footage surfing here in Bali and we can easily arrange it for ya. Or if ya check out the Wotashot.com banner you might even find a photo of you on your last trip to Bali.
If it’s somewhere a little more private you’r looking for take a look at the private bungalow for rent we have in our Business Directory and drop the owner Michael Owen an email. Michael is one of the old school surfers who rubs shoulders with the likes of Gerry Lopez and Peter McCabe just to name a couple of Indo Legends.
Best Regards from the No.1 surfing holiday destination that’s got it all, BALI , see ya’s here in 2008
