****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Hey crew thanks for cruising by the baliwaves for the run down on todays surf and weather conditions from right here on your favourite surfing holiday island of Bali.
This morning when I went down for the 7.30AM surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban (West Coast) wave height had yo-yo’d back up into the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
Wind direction at the time was coming out of the WNW @ 3-6knot before swinging SW @ 4-8knot+
Tide wise the first today was a 1.8mtr High @ 11.00AM and then she was running for a 0.6mtr Low around the 4.30PM mark.
Surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs were not all that bad even though the wind was coming pretty well straight on-shore. Kuta Reef was rolling through in the 3ft or head high range and looking very surfable. Middle Reef was hitting the 4ft mark but mainly just flopping over and closing out. Airport Left had the only surfer in the line up and also breaking in the head high class.
But our guests staying with us here at Home Base wanted nothing to do with surfing on-shore waves, they said they get enough of that back home. So we loaded up the rental and headed for Serangan over on the East Coast in search of cleaner and greener pastures. As you can see in these latest photos I’ve loaded up wave height at Serangan was pushing the 5ft or double over head range (old school wave height). Surfing conditions were very clean and tidy when we first pulled up at 9.00AM, but shortly there are after the wind swung more to the SW and more cross / off-shore. There were 4 different sections to choose from at Serangan and you could also probably say no shortage of surfers to fill the postions, with around 90 surfers in the water.
Weather wise it was nice and sunny through the early AM until midday when a big squall blew in from the South dumping it’s load of rain on us. But now at 4.00PM it’s back to a mixture of grey blue with the temperature sitting on 28 degree’s Celsius.
Tomorrow we’ll be heading back out in search of more waves and possibly heading to a different location. So if you want to see whats happening over here in Bali make sure you call by the baliwaves.com.
Swell Forecast 24th-30th Nov ; Not a great deal to look forward to over the next 7 day period with wave height only expected to be showing in the 2-4ft range at the better locations around Bali. The yo-yo effect will be in place.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you will find that 1AU$=Rp7,600 – 1US$=Rp12,500 give or take 100 Rupiah.
