****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Hello friends and welcome back to the one and only original Bali surf and weather report coming to ya’s straight out of the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
First of all I’m going to explain (most of you would already know) why through the Wet Season months (Nov – Mar) each year the baliwaves surf report does not appear until the afternoon. Well we do pride ourselves knowing that we do try to bring you the best quality photos of the surf. So when we have to shoot the East Coast we really do need to wait until after lunch when the sun is behind the camera. Visa versa through the Dry Season with the morning providing the best light. We can’t always abide by this basic rule of thumb but we try.
Ok this morning when I went down for a look at the Outer Reefs of Tuban @ 7.00AM wave height had dropped back down into the 1-2ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left with the wind coming out of the WNW @ 3-5knot.
Tide wise the first one was a 1.9mtr High @ 11.30AM and then we will have a 0.7mtr Low around 5.30PM.
The boys from here at Home Base and I had already made our decision to head up to Secrets over on the East Coast to hopefully escape the crowds of Serangan and score a few beach breaks. We arrived as the tide was still running up and our first glimpse was of a nice 3 foot right hander peeling off, with 20 surfers in the water. But in the process of getting changed the wind swung to the SSW blowing fully on-shore. The boys still hit it for a quick one but it wasn’t long and we were back on the road to check out Serangan.
Serangan was picking up slightly more swell than Secrets but with around 80 surfers spread through the line-up. The wind was also on-shore here so we just opted for some fried noodle’s and a cold drink in the beach side café before heading back to Home Base. The boys summed it up perfectly with “there’s always tomorrow”
Weather wise today it’s partly cloudy with sunny periods and the temperature peaking somewhere close to the 30 degree Celsius mark with the humidity right up there in the 90’s.
Swell Forecast 24th-30th Nov ; Not a great deal to look forward to over the next 7 day period with wave height only expected to be showing in the 2-4ft range at the better locations around Bali. The yo-yo effect will be in place.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you will find that 1AU$=Rp7,600 – 1US$=Rp12,500 give or take 100 Rupiah.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
